@Zeyna Nd No she didn't, she was a heavy alcohol drinker back then, but I'm not making any excuses for her, she never abused my brother, so she knew full well what she was doing and she was very verbal abusive to me as a child and a young adult. I'm 58 and she's 80 now, at that time my father was her biggest enabler, always telling me that's your mother, she carried you nine months, so she was excused for her wrong behaviors, when my father died, my brother became her enabler whom she treated so much better.

That was my dad…imagine being trapped in a home growing up under that crap. By 8 I knew he was crazy and by 10 I hated him. thankfully I KNEW he was crazy and didn’t internalize most of what happened exactly. My mom who supported him 95% of the time was the one who got in my head the most. She would be scurrying around trying to normalize the situation so people didn’t see the crazy so bad. Then I tried that for years too. Hint: Don’t bother-just go low or better yet- no contact. And if I was talking to my younger self I’d say “Run, run as many times as it takes to get away.” He tried to murder me multiple times and luckily was unsuccessful and often interrupted … He thought he owned us all and had the right RIGHT to destroy any of us.

I didn’t realize it until 23. My whole life I thought I was a crazy, stupid, lazy, zero who shouldn’t even try to do/learn anything new because I would only fail and waste my time. I finally said F it I know I’ll fail but I’m still going to try, and ended up realizing I can do anything I put my mind to, I can learn whatever I have to learn in order to achieve my goal. I’ve never had any self confidence my entire life and it feels so good knowing I can do anything I put my mind to. I still love him and care too much about making sure he’s always happy, but at least i see it for what it is when he’s acting the way he does. Unfortunately he has a bad coke addiction that makes him extremely bipolar on a regular bases so it’s pretty hard to stay positive around him when it’s all super high highs and super low lows.

@age93, I like to watch true crime. Are you familiar with the Adelson case? It’s a family that conspired together, got a hitman to murder Dan Markel, a lawyer professor. Well, the mother, Donna Adelson nicknamed him dummy and stupid around his kids when the kids were at visitation with his ex-wife. He heard it, on the phone, in passing or in the background. The children were like only three ( maybe three going on four ) and the other one around two. Dan Markel is a law professor so he knew what to do. He complained to the court of Donna breaking their relationship, it has a name to it and the court was going to make the visits with grandma be arranged and watched.

As a psychopath / narcissist I wouldn't call these diagnoses issues. They are gifts
@bonnielee316
@bonnielee316 5 ай бұрын
I label them: narcissist/psychopaths. You might think that a psychopath, who is a surgeon, who keeps a steady hand, clear, calm and collective a gift, but not the narcissist/psychopath. They are crazy. They don’t play fair, they physically beat you. Then, as adults, they mentally beat you because physically beating you is against the law. So that is a, “ gift “ to your kind? It’s a gift that you have found a way to feel better about yourself by dealing with people in this cruel manner? Is it a gift to have abnormal sex relations where you discover that sadism gives a euphoria but you can’t find someone who will allow you to abuse them this way so then you just take it? Is the mental illness a gift to you that makes you be enslaved to it and it controls you? Will the mental illness delude the holder of it lying to themselves claiming that it is a gift? Not all are cool, calm, collected surgeons, who are getting good supply based on his status in life so that he doesn’t have to resort to negative supply. But then, what does that surgeon do behind closed doors? Is he an alcoholic? So even if he does have a, “ gift “ he may have to self medicate with drugs or alcohol.

Can you explain the 3: narcissism, sociopath, psychopathic
@specialtwice4975
@specialtwice4975 Жыл бұрын
Narcissism: is like narcissistic traits. You can have 1 or 2 traits but have empathy, feel guilt, etc. I.e. You are not a narcissist, you just have traits. Npd: is the full diagnosis. Most care very much about themselves, how others see them, and believe they are the center of the universe. "Me, me, me, me, it's the meeeee show" They talk about themselves a lot and get bored when you try to talk about you. Sometimes you will see a narcissist on their phone, walking away, while the wife is chasing after them trying to say something. Btw, the wife/husband/family always has to apologize to others in public. To waiter: "I'm sorry he was so rude" or to taxi driver "I'm sorry she didn't tip" or to customer service person: "I'm sorry she said that" Family is always apologizing in public for their rude behavior. Sometimes you will see the narcissist leave the spouse in the dust. They will walk away or walk ahead of them and then blame them for not walking fast enough. "Can't you keep up?" This is the same for if they walk behind or slower than you. "You walk to fast, slow down." Now, the main difference between npd and Aspd (sociopathy/psychopathy) is narcissists have low self esteem. Sometimes extreme self esteem issues. They can feel shame. Psychopaths have no self esteem issues. None. They walk with confidence everyday. Also, narcissists NEED what is called "narcissistic supply". They need attention, admiration, praise, etc. They need to be told they are pretty, smart, funny, etc. Psychopaths don't need this. They don't need attention or admiration, as my psychopath ex said "that's for stupid people." Third, psychopaths can, and do, manipulate narcissists. A psychopath knows how to make a narcissist their toy.
@specialtwice4975
@specialtwice4975 Жыл бұрын
I've dealt with both and personally this is my opinion about their danger levels: Narcissist: ----- Psychopath:--------------- So yes, I believe psychopaths are much more dangerous. Now, what's the difference between a sociopath and a psychopath? Well, at their core, very little. They are cut from the same piece of cloth, so to speak. But one side is the color red and angry, the other side is colored blue and cold. However, the main difference is: -sociopath is from nature, trauma/psychopath is born that way -sociopath gets angered more easily/psychopaths can keep their cool -sociopaths are more likely to get caught, slip up/psychopaths are more likely to NOT slip up. -sociopaths are more emotional/psychopaths are cold -some sociopaths can have a few people they care about and protect/psychopaths don't care about anyone. Not even their own family. Another difference between Aspd and npd I forgot to mention: -npd tends to, well...not be smart. Most I find are below average iq. However, there are some who are smart too, but most I've met are dumb. All psychopaths I've met are extremely smart. Like 150+ iq, 200+ iq...300+iq...400... Aspd are not dumb, I'll tell you that. -npd tend to use "emotional manipulation", while psychopaths use emotional manipulation, dark psychology, brainwashing, confusion, fear tactics, etc. Aspd go above and beyond a narcissist in manipulation. -a narcissist won't usually break the law, they care too much how others view them "what will the neighbours think??" Aspd has no problem doing bad things.

I know narcissists who are more narcissistic than psychopaths and I know psychopaths who are more psychopathic than narcissistic so this saying is not true. Once you witness a narcissist use his NPD playbook, deliberately, as a tactic, to mentally punch you, to hurt you, acting like a bully, being cruel, that person is automatically a psychopath too even though their narcissism is surface level, take the covert narcissist for an example. One that is more the covert side than the vulnerable side because covert is the same as vulnerable only some display the covert side and some display or present as, the vulnerable side.

Narcissists are also malevolent, predators, liars ... Psychopaths have a Bad reputation, but they are Honest ... The reason why sociopaths and psychopaths aren't necessarily as Bad as you think is The fact that The narcissist is The dishonest one ... Psychopaths are not abusive without a reason whereas narcissists ruin people without any self-interest ... So that makes narcissists The worst abusers IMO

I agree. Narcissist are the in your face whiny , tantrum throwing , think they’re way smarter than they are, superiority complex, fragile ego and loves to manipulate and hurt for the pleasure. Those people are easier to read and basically the moment you stop engaging or caring for them than their power is up. Psychopaths don’t go out of their way unless you have something they want or have harmed them they would not hesitate and it’s easy for them. They have high IQ usually and are so good at acting out emotions because they don’t feel them. They were born that way. Sociopath weren’t born that way but got wired due to early trauma of some sort of event that triggered them to change. They feel more emotion than psychopath are more prone to anger burst but switch it off right after. They also have the ability to have more empathy for their loved ones as for a psychopath it’s nearly impossible.

That’s not how I define it. The way I see it, if a, “ narcissist “ is cruel, in anyway, meaning that an NPD uses his NPD “ antics “ as a tool to hurt you, deliberately, that makes him also a psychopath because it’s a type of sadism. The bully feels better about himself, stronger about himself and even gets euphoria from it when he bullies you. Also when the bully either physically hits you, which they do in their youth and still want to do in their adulthood but it’s against the law so they, “ beat “ you mentally; that, to me, is psychopathy. So many narcissists are bullies and that is why I label them: narcissist/psychopaths. A narcissist knows his disorder. He knows his, “ NPD playbook “. He controls them in public and he wields them as tools when he wants to mentally punch you. When you catch one doing this that automatically puts them in the bully category which automatically puts them in the psychopath category. They all, most likely, start out as psychopaths. The way that the genetics are turned on or remain off probably dictates the severity of it.

Even predators in nature don't destroy themselfes so why should you. You just need to find a hobby that satisfies your urge to kill. Boxing, running, hunting, airsoft, paintball and ect. Every man has survival/killer instinct from our ancestors, the difference between psychopath/narcissist and a 'normal' people is just that narc./psychopaths feel threatened all the time. They are in survival mode all the time. And that is because if the childhood trauma, bad parenting, no pareting, abuse and ect.

I think my mother is a malignant narcissist. I’m the baby of three. Suffered her abuse my entire life. I always knew my mother was unstable, an alcoholic and prescription pill addict and an adulteress. I dont think anyone in my family understands or is aware she has a mental illness. I figured it all out after she kidnapped my baby when she was only 3 months. I fought in court for 6 years until I lost her. I wish I wasn’t writing this…I wish I wasn’t plagued by what she has done. I don’t want to be a victim but what else am I? I suffer severe depression over the loss of my only child. I have not seen my baby since she was two. You have mentioned triangulation among a narcs children - my mother did that too. My Dad died several years ago. I don’t speak to my siblings and I haven’t spoken to my mother since she got a restraining order against me shortly after she kidnapped my daughter (I was incessantly calling her and texting her and threatened to kill her). She played me. I was the easiest target. My world went dark and I’m desperately trying to heal myself. I still can’t believe she was able to pull off what she did. How do you not hate someone like this? How do you forgive? My mother has caused so much destruction. I have erased her from my childhood memories but once in awhile, for a split second, I’ll miss her.

I think that psychopaths are the monsters that we see in movies. I'm playing devil's advocat here and you're free to call me out if I'm wrong. As an autistic person who struggles with very selective empathy, I can somewhat understand that psychopaths have no shame or respect for the laws because all these rules defined by an abstract concept of emotions and standards created by a neurotypical society. It just doesn't make sense a lot of the time and it won't help if you try to explain it in a way that we can't comprehend. So if a psychopath doesn't have empathy and doesn't understand it when you tell them "don't hurt innocent people because it's bad!", the logical approach "don't hurt people for no good reason because you'll get prison sentence, people will shun you and you'll have a much harder time to live a comfortable life like you used to" will get through them. Genetics are just the bullet in the gun, but environment is the trigger that's pulled. A psychopath can't change the fact that they don't have any empathy, but they can still learn to be decent humans. If it's true that 25% of prisoners are indeed psychopaths, that still makes the majority of prisoners non-psychopaths

I'm not so sure about that. I suspect my sister is a psychopath, but not a narcissist. She always assumes she's right & tramples over people in a very matter-of-fact way, but she never looks for a reaction. It's like everyone is so far beneath her she has no interest in them one way or the other.

Actually narcissists care about their reputation, they see them self's as above everyone else, and they often suck up to people that have power or respect so they can get those themselves. Psychopaths are none of these, psychopaths simply don't give two shits about what others think of them, nor do they seem themselves as some king, queen or god, if they did they wouldn't bother wearing a "mask" to fit in with society they would simply be to egotistical and prideful they would think they are to good to do such a simple thing unless it was to make someone admire them. Also most narcissists come from depression, which psychopaths don't can't have (according to what I've read but other places say they can so take that with a grain of salt))

I think malignant narcissism combines narcissism and antisocial characteristics, rather than psychopathy, psychopathy is different from antisocial personality disorder, psychapathy has narcissism in it

Says the relentless propaganda, which you're happily spreading, propagandist. That's your legacy. However, in politics, propaganda is allowed, so it's up to us to figure out fact from fiction. It's a test. The secret is to judge a politician by his actions, not by what his enemies say, knowing that the media attacks everyone who calls them out. The "psychopathic narcissist Trump" story doesn't match his actions, at all. None of it adds up. Quite the opposite, which is why he's so loved. But to find out the truth, you'd have to listen, which doesn't happen, because propagandists are fearful, emotional, naive, and stubborn, ie. don't care about any other side to their story.
