Have a goal and be absolutely busy in pursuing it. Having mental breakdowns is quite normal. But this is how I try to keep my mind from falling into that dark pit. I am running away from addressing this, but I believe this process will someday take me to a place from where my problems seem joke.

@@NasDaily He has been quite the leader. Lee Kuan Yew has been a model for so many to follow structurally - including places like China and Africa. In many situations, I feel what Lew Kuan did was good example of strong execution with courage with an anti-fragile mindset.

@@anupmashuklaSingapore is smaller than a village in india..if 6.5 million people buy a car then an avarage Singaporean have to stuck in traffic for 1/3 of their life and in top of that noise and air pollutant make it worse..so,they focused on public transport rather than individual luxury..

Making india developed is not a piece of joke. India had a huge and massive population and different diversities or india is one of the most diverse county in the world. Our governemnt somehow tried to control the conflicts between communities but still lot of tasks needs to be fixed. And also there is democracy in our country and a huge and insanely populated country running through democracy is not that easy.

@@enkryptroni dont try to prove you wrong since it practically was an oppressed authoritarian regime but you see the people didnt really care about breaking rules they cared more about having a better life. you think the drug death penalty is bad but no one really cared about using their money to buy useless things like drugs other than outsiders who decide to ruin others lives by smuggling and selling their drugs. Basically while we still care about peoples rights these rights will be useless if you dont have a good house, food and family which was what this amazing man had gave us .

Before May 2023, my favourite leader was Winston Churchill because he led his country to victory during WW2. After hearing about this, Lee Kuan Yew is now my favourite. Thank you for posting this Nas!

I was wondering if it's some influential US president, or maybe Chinese, or Indian, etc. I wasn't expecting it to be my own country's politician so that's a fair surprise. And that's true, I've got nothing bad to say about Lee Kuan Yew. Thanks to him Singapore now is so prosperous and stable. When we got kicked out of Malaysia nobody thought we could survive, but Lee Kuan Yew proved it wrong. He's really a great politician

Yeah, but just because the things he did worked in Singapore doesn’t mean it’ll work in other countries. If anything you’d agree paying politicians a million dollars is way too much, especially since such money should go to our education system and solving homelessness. Plus, it would cost ALOT of taxpayer money. And forcing diversity? That’s a double edged sword. On one hand, we want to end racism, but on the other hand, we should only give houses to people who are able to pay, not on the basis of race.

Many times you hear a politician blame the system, govt or otherwise. But if you ever imagined what it was like when a politician run a country as a communal organization and his job as a CEO.....please please read one of this great man's books. I suggest 'from third world to first' where he tackles a range of socio-economic and political pain points with sense and practicability.

Lee Kuan, worked for unity of people of different religions and , and in India politicians play politics in the name of religion and divide people on basis of religion, caste, ethnicity instead of promoting unity.

The main thing I like is the hard limit of cars to solve the traffic. Most if not all politicians won't do that as it will impact their circle's business/self-interest, corruption.

I really love you keep talking about very nice things about my country, Singapore and next month on the September 16th, it will mark the 100th year anniversary of Lee Kuan Yew since his birth and there will be a new 10 dollar coin coming soon next month in September to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of his birth. They didn’t specify which day in September the 10 dollar coin will be released but I think we will find out soon in September but for me I think it will be released on September 16th itself( that is just my opinion, it’s not confirmed yet but I think we will find out soon and double confirmed the date next month in September).

Lee Kuan was also considered a dictator by some- a benovelent dictator. Not the Hitler-Stalin-Mao type. He provided a perfect inspiration to contemporary democracies between idealism and pragmatism. He was basically a pragmatical benovelent authoritarian leader that every developing demcratic nations deserve where citizens are turned into vote banks.

Probably the only good dictator. Being leader use popular vote are so bad. Basically if you are not dictator you need compromise for ruling the country

The west likes to paint him as a dictator. But if you read his colleagues' comments about him, he can be swayed with facts. He didn't wanted to build the metro system then because of the cost and most of his colleagues agreed, except for the late President Ong who made a passionate plea. Nonetheless, he relented.

Basically, most things if not all are controlled in Singapore. However because we grew up here, we become accustomed to it, so it had worked for us. It may not make sense to some foreigners who are more used to the level of freedom they enjoyed in their home country, and it is difficult to replicate the way we govern in other countries because the citizens are not used to control.
