As an former christian turned athiest, ive resented the lovecraft gods for their chaos. Tho then after deconversion and taking deep lore into shub, and having resentment for yaweh, i sometimes wonder if ive been too harsh on the lovecraft gods. Shub seems more reasonable and more moral than the christian god. good video.

Much appreciated, and thank you for the comment! I like to see the Eldritch gods not as something good or evil, just as things that are what they are. Some of them show signs of good and evil, but most of them are just existing, and performing functions of said existence.

Thanks for all the great Lovecraftean info videos!!! Call of C'thulu was one of my favorite RPGs as a kid and I've been a Lovecraft fanboy and cosmic horror fiend ever since. Keep up the great work!!!!

I can't help but wonder if the Old Gods in WoW are based off of stuff like this.

They're absolutely inspired by Lovecraft's mythos. He was among the first to detail many of these types of beings and popularise it! Many other writers helped contribute to the mythos as well, which is something Lovecraft encouraged.
