Great video! However, I think the Nerds under-rated Meria, Scholar of Antiquities power level it synergies really well stax effects such as Winter and Static orb and can get around effects like null rod very easily, this may just one of those cards thats meh in anything 7 or below but a cEDH or High power all star but I think its effect is very unique and will lead to some very powerful synergies and plays now if that is outside the realms the Nerds cover and moreso in the cEDH space than I could see why it was only given a 2 for power in casual but I think this is def a combo and stax all star!

Wrong on Dihada. The mill 4, make 4 treasures is the major ability here. She's a great reanimator commander and a good flicker target too. She wouldn't be worth it if she didn't pay for herself, though.

1:29:24 Raff IS actually Danitha's younger brother, so Beezy saying it like that really made me chuckle. Also, with Jodah, he's always been one of my favourite characters in the lore so this set has been really nice to me, can't wait to build their decks!

As someone who appreciates art and lore, I love that you guys take those aspects of a card into consideration when ranking them. Also I would love a video on tribes. What makes a tribe unique? What makes them strong? Why are there not more non-creature tribal spells? Why is it that every time I build a tribal deck, the list always looks like 100 other lists already on Moxfield? Jasmine makes your creatures without abilities basically unlockable which could be pretty scary for going wide with tokens

I'm making a griffin deck with the new legendary griffin as my commander even though griffins suck because... I just love griffins. Was also glad to see Xira that high on the list! I just finished building a deck with her as the commander and I can't wait to play it!

While Peregrine Engine is your commander, its inability to hit your commander’s abilities really doesn’t matter. But it does mean trying to make monocolorless legends which is….iffy

Elas is also probably the best lurrus commander now, which I think adds a lot to the uniqueness. I personally am definitely going to build it that way, seems like a pretty interesting deck.

Ramses, Assassin Lord with infect is an absolutely brutal strategy. Blue for unlockable and black for infect for the instant win is gonna be a very dangerous commander Also Vohar, Vodalian Desecrator is going to be brutal in cEDH. I know that's not the nerds specialty, but jace, vrynns prodigy is already a decent list and this includes thoracle lines as well.

The Ever Changing Dane definitely wants to steal your opponents creatures and then sacrifice them so you have a copy of their best thing and they don’t have it anymore. Pair it with an exile effect so they can’t reanimate it.

Rorix was memorable to me because he was a beast in Standard in a time when high powered haste creatures could really do some damage.

One little point you missed about Jenson is that it's the first commander that lets you play 5C and have Lurrus as your companion, and more importantly for me, the first that lets you play green with Lurrus (previously you could have 4C with two of the Stranger Things commanders, but no green). I finally just finished a first draft of my base Abzan Jenson+Lurrus deck and I can't wait to start playing it. Definitely a Beezy-style deck, super grindy. Definitely the hardest deck I've ever made, and I don't think it's in its finished state yet.

Shanid counts legendary ANYTHING for the card draw. There are even a handful of legendary instants/sorceries that will trigger this.

When you guys mentioned The Ever-Changing Danes' lore, my mind immediately went "holy crap this is so much like Deadpool." Regardless, props to keeping up with the Commander set reviews! I enjoy scoping out possible Commanders, and don't always have the time or energy to look up every one.

Haven't watched it yet, but knowing how these guys play, gonna guess Jodah is near top. Looking forward to the gruul Urza myself.

Meira is an incredible commander with the right setup I think it will be a great value engine to a ton of artifact synergies And is in more colours than urza. I'm looking forward to bringing her to my LGS next month.

Phantom Wurm wouldn’t be able to die to damage with Baru Wurmspeaker. phantom wurm has base power 2/0 and enters with 4 +1/+1 counters. Whenever it is dealt damage it prevents that damage then you remove a +1/+1 counter. It stays on the battle field as a 4/2 and all damage dealt to it is prevented. Some other good wurms I found were Dirtcowl wurm, Soul Swallower, and Engulfing Slagwurm

One thing missed about Vohar, its ability to Snapcast is at sorcery speed, not the instant speed that you two thought it was.

Maro sorcerers are, if i'm not mistaken, the embodiment of a specific forest (Multani of Yavimaya, Molimo of Lllanowar etc) and they can be destroyed, but they will always reform if their forest still exists.

Peregrine Dynamo is surprisingly good. Turns out being able to infinitely copy your annihilator triggers, Ugin activations, and Planar Bridge tutoring once you have out a Metalworker and Voltaic Construct is pretty good. And who knows, maybe one day I'll finally achieve my dream of running Colorless Superfriends!

Ever changing Dane is a quasi nteresting idea. I’m thinking of an aristocrat deck that has a commander who can be an okay sac outlet but can also take the place of a blood artist if it gets targeted. Otherwise, idk what it’s supposed to do…

the dihada planeswalker is actually pretty nuts. the -3 ability refuels your hand and/or graveyard when you need to, OR it can give you 4 extra mana on demand. Oh, and giving a creature indestructible protects the planeswalker pretty well. did i mention that it has 7 loyalty the first turn you play it if you are in a position to protect it with a creature. so it can take a hit before it goes down. Overperformed my expectations hugely in the first few games i played with the precon last night.

Zur stained glass art has creepy pointy toes! Zur regular art features the mystic remora and the necropotence skull which is a cool Easter egg of some of the best non aura enchantment. So that’s U, B and zur I guess is W! Esper call out. I love your views on these cards :) I wish we could get a video of NN BTS. I wonder what your schedules look like to make all this content.

Building a tatyova deck that’s based on making copies of land creatures. Haven’t played it in a real game yet, but I think the deck will be a lot of fun in my group’s meta.

Domain can be maxed in green with Dryad of Ilysian Grove as it makes your lands every type. Still not great.

Why is Malcom at 983 that card is so powerful and cool. Not having to seal combat damage.

Y’all are 100% wrong about Rith. Her ability to produce a dragon token triggers when a creature or planeswalker dies to excess damage. So play burn spells and dragon tribal staples like dragon tempest, scourge of ballad, and maybe terror of the peaks to combo off Rith and flood the board with dragons. Your poor opponents won’t ever have any creatures or walkers

Wurm Baru is a deck that wants Dramatic Entrance more than possibly any other commander printed before.

The only redeeming feature that I think puts the domain commanders in green above anything is Dryad of the Illsyan Grove... which is one creature that makes lands all types

Tbf Orca says whenever A creature dies, not your. So its alot better as you can play more of a edict style theme, more than just aristocrats, also trample fits well on him...

Hazezon has been my commander for quite some time and I am hyped with the new one so I brushed up on some lore. He was arguably the strongest mortal mage at the time, only in competition with Johan (Xira was one of Johan's underlings). When Hazezon summoned Sand Warriors, he summoned thousands at a time and used them as a distraction to summon up a sandstorm that decimated an army. He can shift (fucking teleport) so when he was captured in a prison with no doors or windows he just ported out of there. He built and led a fleet of skyships to take on Johan's army. After the battle for the rest of his days Hazezon just took the skyships and dicked around flying around throwing out money to people who needed it and slapping down people being assholes.

Dihada is waaaaay stronger once you realise her -3 and her card type makes her the perfect card for an armageddon/wildfire/jokulhaups tribal deck

Pulled a Phyrexian text Sheoldred in my prerelease kit, immediately had to double-check if Yawgmoth's Bargain was Commander legal (it isn't) since Necropotence is legal, but technically doesn't draw the cards... If Bargain was legal, it would be stupid to have the ability to pay 1 life to both draw a card and then gain one two life. What's that? Free card draw with upside? Yeah... Bargain is banned for good reason lol.

making a dwarf tribal commander gruul is the weirdest thing. there is exactly 1 green dwarf in the entire game. there are more black dwarves (4).

I think ratadrabik is at least a 6 on the power scale. Being able to make permanent copies of your creatures when they die while still being able to reanimate the originals gives you insane value. At the very least you’ll get another token you can sacrifice to get etb and death triggers again, but if you reanimate your creatures you’re just gonna keep getting more copies that will stack (imagine having 2 or 3 syr Konrads or elesh Norns), not to mention the fact that teysa and/or anointed procession will give you double the tokens per death. Oh and it also goes crazy with myriad. You equip your kokusho with a blade of selves and get two copies of it that immediately die, draining for 10 and gaining 30, and then immediately get 2 copies of kokusho (while still having your original) that you can all sacrifice to drain for another 15+gaining 45, and THEN you get ANOTHER kokusho to drain for another 5 gaining 15. Thats 30 life drained from the table and gaining 90. Oh and if you wanna do the same with yosei that’s basically a soft lock.
