Sundial of the infinite is mostly used to stop the end step. So it makes time never reach its natural ending points. A day without night, life without death, angels without them leaving me at the end of turn…it’s infinite in a more poetic sense.

I think it's funny that you think mono colored decks are the only place you can play the spells that require colorless mana. I can tell your mana base is a lot more expensive than most of the people I play with. For us, a three color non-green deck probably runs 3 pain lands, 3 filter lands, 3 talismans, sol ring, liquimetal torque, thought vessel, and probably mind stone. That's 13 colorless sources before any utility lands. In contrast, most of our mono colored decks are running like 3 utility lands and 30+ basics. If it's non green you might have enough mana rocks but in green I often have zero colorless sources except sol ring. I just don't have the money to load up on utility lands.

Mana Crypt, Jeweled Lotus, and Dockside are just awful in terms of lacking reprints. Crypt being the worst because it's most recent reprint was a Collector Booster exclusive that was extremely rare.

You forget about the war with the phyrexians. Many races have wondered into other planes. I mean have you seen Thunder Junction? It has legendaries from both Ravnica and Inastrade. The other legendary Eldrazi is like a general or something of the like to the Eldrazi army. The spirit with afterlife involves another besides itself like an ally that is not on the spirit's card or the one it bestows which is why it makes sense.
