Jimmy Page is a master guitarist. He played as a studio musician then took a place in the Yardbirds. When they blew up there were still dates to fullfill. Jimmy had an idea for a band for awhile and grabbed the Yardbirds manager Peter Grant and went recruiting. He found Robert Plant singing at some teacher's college and Plant recommended John Bonham, a friend of his, for drummer. A studio musician friend of Page asked to be in the band and they got John Paul Jones. Led Zeppelin is Jimmy's brainchild. It is his band and he is the guitarist and producer and leader. and Jimmy is one of the best guitarists ever

Jimmy Page is the best guitarist ever for those that know music, just no one want's to say it in my opinion. Hendrix has to be second but then again I'd put Peter Green or Mark Knopfler above most of these lists they never appear on so what do I know. Gilmour has to be 3rd then, well I like Robert Johnsons stuff sounds so easy but try playing it, Chuck Berry Django BB King Green Knopfler and then maybe you can start with the popular bullshit list.

@@baretous Many have their opinion and favorites for guitarist but, frankly Page is above many. He is both technical and emotional in his playing. Plus he is very innovative, pushing the possibilities of guitars to the limit. His creativity is also above many. In order to achieve a solid rhythm the drummer must lock down the beat.. Otherwise a song like this will easy fall into chaos.. The 60s and 70s were the era of the guitar gods. That being said, Led Zeppelin was a stand-out band for oh so many reasons. Your time would not be wasted if you checked a great many of their songs. Random suggestions - In My Time of Dying, 10 Years Gone, Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, Immigrant Song, Custard Pie, Over the Hills and Far Away, The Battle of Evermore - the list is LENGTHY. You could, of course, watch the live performance movie The Song Remains the Same.

The right way to learn to love LZ is listen to the album recordings before you jump in to their live shows…This band NEVER did any song the same way twice live. This footage was filmed and later released in the 1976 motion picture “The Song Remains The Same” (still available to stream or buy on disk), it ran in movie theaters throughout the 70’s as a midnight show and blew our minds, get a copy and watch it! From this concert series you will see the #1 requested song on radio in the 1970’s (for the entire decade), “Stairway To Heaven” and it still ranks as one of the top greatest rock songs ever today, usually in the #1 spot (Robert Plant also ranks in the top 3 greatest rock voices ever), before you listen to the live version of “Stairway” listen to the album release first...

Today, 07/29/23 happens to be the 50th anniversary of these live MSG recordings ... 07-27th-29th, 1973 ... The footage here was used in production of a film that was later produced called "The Song Remains the Same", released in 1976. Depending on weather or not you decide to do more LZ, a tribute to the 50th anniversary would be a nice place to start. "Since I've Been Loving You" or "Whole Lotta Love" from this concert would be fantastic and will not disappoint!

Great reaction. You will get lots of traffic doing Zeppelin. We like seeing people discover them! Be honest, if you don't dig something by them so much, say it, no worries, we can take it, lol! I will say that many ARE blown away by their talents though, lol. You say Jimmy Page stole the show with his electric guitar on this one. fair enuf. Each band member is capable of "show-stealing." They're equally brilliant, and a a Whole, mind-blowingly great.
@joescott8877
@joescott8877 Жыл бұрын
And here are my "show-stealing" recommendations. Bear in mind that the songs weren't MEANT as individual "show-stealers" so much, nor does it mean the other three aren't also kicking their own kind of ass on the songs as well, but, for the brilliance of John Paul Jones on bass, "The Lemon Song." For Robert Plant on vocals, "Going to California" (beautiful acoustic song), for another killer guitar solo from Jimmy Page, "Dazed & Confused," and for the thunderous power of John Bonham's drums, "In My Time of Dying." (Important to do the studio, not live, version for this last one.) They have at least 70 other equally great songs! Enjoy!

London rock band formed way back in the 60's and when they first hit the scene, it was predicted they would sink like a lead balloon so they adopted the name Led Zeppelin. The rest is history. Their roots were blues and rock and went on to become the very greatest rock band of all time. I am now in my late 60's and grew up to the sound of Led Zeppelin. I have also been a blues and blues rock vocalist all my life and still regard Robert Plant as the GOAT of his genre. Led Zeppelin will live forever.

As a 59yo who grew up listening Led Zeppelin I absolutely delighted in your response to this video. I had to share with my sister, who was laughing at your reaction to Jimmy Page. They were THE band. Robert Plant (singer) is a god ( to us old folks). Jimmy Page, who you already know, is the GOAT. John Bonham (drummer), LEGEND. John Paul Jones (base), he was there too. 😉 I never get tired of hearing them, or seeing young people discover them. Thanks for the video. You have a new follower.

That being said, all of them are incredibly talented as individuals. And Robert Plant has some good solo stuff, I’ve heard. His stuff with Alison Krauss is good too. You might check some of that out of you like him. His voice is certainly special, kinda scratchy at times, hard when it needs to be, and even sweet at times.
