You are also not a real man unless you can squat 4 plates. Although if you identify as a man, then it doesn’t matter, you must be recognized as a man by law.

You not need bulk to rise up your body weight until 30%. Just keep your %BF inside your accepted % and keep training to up your weights on the bar.

I'm a 5'4" male at 310 pounds and I've increased my squat by 30 pounds in 3 months. Should I cut the GOMAD to a half gallon a day??

With 2 gallons a day you could have increased 60 pounds on squat dude. I’d go full GOMAM (Gallon of milk a meal) for the gains

By getting stuck do you mean like most of your main lifts stalling? Sounds like pretty good, kind of like a reset.

One thing I got to point out is that rippetoe kinda dismisses importance of any athletic development from a general fitness perspective unless its strength. The increase of strength has so many carry over benefits that he believes it's all you need. First of all I definitely have to emphasize that this is a minimalistic training fixation on his part. Reason why? Just like increase in general strength has carry over effect to a variety of athletic attributes, so does increase of muscle weight ratio or body composition. Furthermore let's not forget development of relative strength endurance with basic calisthenics and Its correlation with a variety of extra athletic attributes especially when performed in a circuit like herschel walker or early mike tyson or many other boxers of old. And that circuit stuff like that also betters body composition. Soooo bro why not just combine 5 by 5 strength with basic calisthenic circuits for a total general Strength AND Conditioning program modality

I get it now: maintain the muscle while bringing the fat down. So that he can then build more muscle and fat by the same process, while not letting the fat get out of control.
@matthewmchenry2889
@matthewmchenry2889 3 жыл бұрын
@@patricklongshanks378 You can't go anabolic and build 100% muscle mass, you can't go catabolic and lose 100% body fat. You can, however, tip the scales grossly in your favor when you have a clear goal and commit to an intelligent method. 3 to 1 ratios are reasonable for a very long time, but the first step always needs to be: get strong.

Any expert that uses BMI as the starting point for anything is probably not an expert. The further away from ‘average’ a person becomes - height, width, depth, muscle mass etc. - regardless of the body fat percentage, the more distorted (unreliable) the reading.

Lol please. BMI is a great tool for the untrained novice
@Abraham_Kist-Okazaki
@Abraham_Kist-Okazaki Жыл бұрын
They make it clear that they are only using BMI as a metric to be applied in the case of an untrained individual. That is one circumstance in which BMI certainly can be a useful tool. Every method of measuring body fat percentage has its drawbacks. However, if I guy has never done any kind of resistance training and his BMI is 30 or above, there is no question when it comes to obesity.
