My biggest peeve is when people trot out Tailtiu solely as a way of avoiding Lugh -- forgetting he didn't found the holiday for her, but rather he founded an important fair on his holy day for her, just as he founded a fair near you for Carman on his day, and another for Nass... and that founding goddess-fairs (albeit super important, and also a demonstration of his respect) is not even the sole theme of the day! It would bother me less if I saw this happening from a place of deep devotion to Tailtiu, rather than just people using her like the divine version of a human shield to avoid Lugh. They both deserve better, and why is this already on my mind before Imbolc?!? My Lugic-love aside; great post as always. Keep up the great work!
