And no shout out to SIR J.C Bose? Mercury Coherer (together with the telephone receiver) used by Guglielmo Marconi to receive the radio signal in his first transatlantic radio communication was invented by Bose. Bose also holds the first patent worldwide to invent a solid-state diode detector to detect EM waves. The detector was built using a galena crystal.Even before Marconis experiment in 1895 J. C. Bose gave his first public demonstration of electromagnetic waves, using them to ring a bell remotely and to explode some gunpowder .

H BI I have looked a lot of stuff related to Tesla. Have you looked at all the things that he has registered as invevtions ? The ones that Marconi used all predated Marconi's own stuff. I do not take away Marconi's thinking from him, but chances are that Marconi may not have gotten any further if he didn't have Tesla's original registered thinking to point his eyes in the proper direction.

In June 1900, a brazilian priest named Landell de Moura successfully broadcasted human voice using a radio device. This was witnessed and registered by many people at that time, as he was trying to sale his invention to Brazil's Navy. He claimed that has done it before since 1894, but without any documentation. For sure a year before Marconi.

@@Suguru65564 ur right for most part, but tesla was the first to actually build a small boat which could be controlled by radio waves and was about to build the first transmition device to send a messages before it was destroyed in a fire or somethibg like that. Marconi however took most of the teslas work and other peoples theoretical ideas and build it into a business. So this reminds me of the first graphical user interface. Everyone knows that zerox invented it but apple turned into a business, so no one in the right mind would give apple credit for invented the gui yet even though after tesla died the united states supreme court invalidated all of marconis patents and gave them tesla, it is still tought at schools accross the world that marconi invented radio.

I should think that a radio-controlled boat counts as sending messages through radio. They're not verbal messages, as in a telegram or audio message, but they are nevertheless communications from one machine to another in much the same way that a computer can communicate with a router on a network, and we call those messages.

So apparently, a really close Bengali friend of Marconi was the one who basically did everything that Marconi 'invented' back in his home in Bangladesh, he made a whole theory about radio waves, told his friend about it, and Marconi completely ripped it off because the Bengali dude had 0 money to do anything with it, that combined with his bad location

This is the same with a lot of inventions. The guy who has the first patent gets all the credit, but nobody really knows who was the first that came up with the idea. Usually the first versions of something don't work right and someone else comes up with an improvement, gets the patent and is named as the "inventor". Famous examples are the light bulb and the telephone. Some version of a light bulb had been around for 60 years when Edison got his patent. The first version of the telephone was more than 30 years old when Alexander Graham Bell cheated and bullied his way to the patent.

I'm not a big fan of the church of tesla, but hey, I guess that's just me. There was a TV show called; "Connections, with David Burk" where it was stated that in the early 1800s a system was demonstrated to some British money mucks consisting of a coil of wire hooked to an earpiece that allowed a person to hear an intermittent electric arc 30 meters away. The money mucks couldn't see any practical application for the technology and dismissed it as; "simple induction". Thus delaying the radio by fifty years.

I connect a battery to transformer which is then connected to a wire, and I put another wire about a centimeter away. The current went through the first wire but the second wire had no current going through it. Why in all videos I see everyone else can make radio and make electricity go through wire from a distance but I can’t? Nobody is explaining this so please help! None of the current passing through the first wire is detected by the second wire, and no matter how close I put it, nothing happens.

KnownNiche Marconi didn't invent the radio. Edison didn't invent the light bulb. It's easy to compress complex histories into one sentence to help third graders know more about the fascinating world of inventions, but it is often misleading. Oh, and on that topic; the Wright Brothers didn't exactly “invent the plane” either. They are known for building and flying the first successful manned airplane, and their design built on hundreds of years of research into aviation. A major invention like radio is usually the result of many years of research and experimentation by quite a lot of people from all over the world. The history of the radio began when James Clerk Maxwell theoretically proved in 1864 the existence of electromagnetic waves that could propagate through free space. Then, during the 1860s, Heinrich Rudolph Hertz conducted experiments to prove the existence of Maxwell’s electromagnetic waves, and he used what would later become the “radio” spectrum. In 1893, Nikola Tesla unveiled his own system that ran on Hertz’s research, and proposed it could be used to power the world and communicate information. It was then that Jagadish Chandra Bose came into the picture. In 1894, he ignited gunpowder and rang a bell by manipulating microwaves in a public demonstration at the Town Hall in Kolkata. Then, in 1895, Alexander Stepanovich Popov built his own radio receiver, which was later refined into a lightning detector. What, then, did Guglielmo Marconi do? He noticed that most inventors of his time were not interested in working on a commercial wireless telegraphy system that utilized the power of radio waves. He then went on to build the first commercially successful radio transmission system. He took from the scientists, and gave it to the people. Marconi was, in other words, the inventor of the first radio transmission system that worked and could be sold, like Thomas Edison and the Wright Brothers. In fact, I probably oversimplified the history of the radio.
