The Barcelo Bavaro Palace is a huge resort located in Punta Cana, it has been one of the most famous all-inclusive hotels in the Bavaro area for many years, and because of that, this resort has thousands of good and bad reviews.

I was there 1 week ago and it was a nice hotel. But theres no bar near the beach ( building 5/6). They bake fresh pizza in the buffet, but the oven is heated with fire so theres smoke and smell of smoke in the restaurant pretty annoying

Closest bar to the beach would be El Cielo Bar… you’re right, they’re missing a bar close to the beach

Hola Miguelina 🙂 No es necesario pagar extra para usar las mesas de billar pero sí hay que pagar para jugar a los bolos y los otros juegos del arcade.

Which resort would you recommend for handicapped people? What about handicapped scooter rentals? Thanks!

Hello, Sid 🙂 we saw a scooter once at the Lopesan from handicap travelers DR (link: handicaptravelersdr.com/ ); they rent scooters and deliver them to your hotel. When it comes to recommending a specific hotel, we're afraid to be specific because when we travel, we're not really mindful of handicap accessibility. We would love to help you pick a hotel, and what we can do is for you to contact us via e-mail at contact@nittygrittytravelers.com with a short list of hotels you are considering, and we can check our footage to confirm if they have elevators in the buildings which would be the biggest hurdle. 🙂 Looking forward to hearing from you in our inbox

Saw a scooter aswell but there’s only 2 toilets for disabled people on the entire area keep this in mind. 1 near the lobby 1 near the Bavaro beach

I am currently at the Barcelo adult only and I honestly regret staying here food is ok. Service for me was horrible and they had attitude from the moment I arrived. The room is old in bad shape the control remote was moldy and the front desk told me to come back later I asked why she said because she had to ask a manager if they can give me a new one. It was just awful and the battle of the speakers was terrible every other person had one. Also smoking is every where not fun.

I had a horrible experience with some staff there too. Some people who works there are really rude and can give u an attitude for nothing, out of nowhere. The worse experience I had was with a lady who works in the Japanese restaurant which seemed had a bad day and didn’t want to work that night at all so she treated us like shit since we arrived and asked her for help. I had to talk to the manager because of her attitude and also make a formal complain about her at the concierge. The beach is really good but the buffet food is just ok.

We went there when it was called Dreams Punta Cana last year BEFORE Hyatt bought it. You can check our review video here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jdCin92mktq8YH0.html We don't know what has changed since we went under the new owners. Regarding Sargassum, August is seaweed season so it's more likely than not that you will experience it during your visit. I hope this helps!
