I think that, along with the fact that he was just humble beside Jordan. He wasn't pulling rank as an FBI agent or in anyway trying to put himself in position above Jordan. He presented himself as just an average everyday Joe, having to do the work his boss gives him. One of cinema's greatest conversation scenes, freakin' epic writing, and one of Kyle Chandler's greatest ever performances. Incredible how comments think Belfort was such a badass here but in fact he got completely owned in this interaction. None of his money power meant anything.

The dialogue, the acting, the editing, the pace, everything is absolutely on point! I love the way they act like they appreciate each other at first, and the more they go into the convo the more they reveal themselves, Jordan as a crook trying to bribe him and the cop acting like he's interested "opportunity is everything", until the grand finale : "can you say that again, just the way you said it?" and then: "When you sail on a boat fit for a Bond villain sometimes you need to play the part, right? I think it's time for you both to get the f*ck off my boat!" Scorsese is next level!

DiCaprio nailed this part - should have got an Oscar. He totally nailed it throughout the entire movie. Great acting and a great movie about great times.

This is one of the only movie scenes where it actually feels like a real conversation. This scene and all of Atlanta are super realistic imo
