In 2014, I pressed NOTA because I was tired of the corruption and, at the same time, I was not happy with the alternative. I almost lost hope in Indian politics after 2014. Then, a unique thing happened to me. America elected Donald Trump in 2016. I got very curious to know why. This is the country that we perceive as the leader of democracies around the world. Then, I started first by following American cable news continuously and then the independent media on KZfaq continuously. Let me tell you, these past few years after 2016 have been a great learning curve for me. I learned a lot. Too many things to write it down here. But, the most important thing regarding casting my vote that I learnt is that when it comes to saving your democracy, staying neutral is not an option. I like none of the alternatives presented by the opposition. But for me, the difference between when I voted in 2014 and 2024 was that- 1st save the democracy, we can discuss the rest of the things by shouting slangs on social media later, if talking your mind doesn't ensure jail time, or losing your job.
