I think it depends on your personal goals for your property and your hunting goals. But I would mostly listen to the deer biologists that have spent years researching deer not financed by product companies.

@@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors I'm talking about biologists that aren't sponsored or paid by some giant Corp hunting company, biologists like Dr. Grant Woods, Joe Beihold of MDOC, just to name a few, they have spent their lives studying deer for their and other hunters benefits, Dr Woods proposes a buffalo system in which you don't have to use pesticides and fertilizer to yield beneficial food for deer as well as expanding your native grasses and forbs on your property

Agree 100%, you need to do it. I wanted to up my cooking game, specifically BBQ and smoking, and I watched 100's of videos. I knew the concepts, but it took a long while to dial it in. Lots of mistakes were made, but you get better and hopefully improve each time (my brisket game still needs work) I think if you watch a number of people who are having success, you take things from all of them. It gets really fun when you have some success and start trying your own things. Now I am looking forward to making some excellent food at our new deer camp as we try to set this up for the 2020 season. We did hire a person to come out and create a plan for us, but I view it as a starting point. We will certainly use it, but it is not the gospel. I appreciate that you share your concepts with us. I know execution will take time and practice but thanks for sharing and taking the time to answer questions. Love channels that allow you to drill a little deeper on a concept that was presented.

Transparency, honesty and humility go a very long way. This video provides clarity, insight and perspective to the food plotting business. Very much appreciated. I actually recently reached out and left a message (for consulting) work to a highly qualified person in my state. Never heard back. In one of his videos, he talks about the best time to plant switch grass being in the fall, but another video he states the best time is in May (in Wisconsin). Which is it? So it CAN be very confusing. But your suggestion to listen to all and then move cautiously ahead and basically prepare for a learning curve is very forthright and honest. Not everyone can afford to plant extensive food plots on pricey hunting land. Thanks!

Appreciate that rick. I don’t personally plant it but know people that do. They usually frost seed it. But like you said it takes trial and error of your own to learn the best way. 👊🦃🦌

Great topic & great presentation. To me you are spot on. What works for you in your area may or may not work as well in my area or every other area in the country. Just absorb all you can from those with the experience then filter through what you may feel works best in your area to meet your goals. We are all in this together. Let's stay together to protect the sport we all love and can share.

One of the best videos I have seen, I read and watch a lot about Deer habitat improvement there’s a lot of conflicting information most times I take small amounts of information that I trust and pertains to my land and I’ll try the improvements, most times in a year I’ll know weather it’s working the way I intended it to

yes I totally agree if someone was the best thay would get something every time they hunt but that is not real I think I am a good hunter but I am not the best last year I got two deer but I went out fifty eight times as my Grandpa always says " it is called hunting not killing" and he has been hunting for over fifty years

Off topic. Are sheds porous. Do they float. My big creek is out again. If a shed was in my bottom field and water comes out. Sometimes 2 or 3 feet. Little current just up and down. Just wonder if sheds should still be there shining bright and white when water goes down. Or gone forever

Great video. I think some people are lazy and assume to much because one person said something. If you invest your own money into ground why wouldn't invest into learning how to maintain that investment yourself. Might as well let other guy hunt your ground if your only using his ideas.
