The easiest litmus test ever! Which aspiring Christian in their right mind would want to join the Church of England?! That is a straight giveaway! Bogus asylum-seekers are playing the system, and CoE woke priests playing the part of useful idiots.

The Church of England is sitting on about £10 Billion of financial assets. I would have thought it could at least pay the costs of interpreters.

But these folk want an interpreter of their choice who will back up their lies. Only Evangelicals are this gullible/dishonest; you would not pull the wool over the eyes of an Anglo-Catholic, used to hearing confession and giving abolution.

IKR? As a CoE attendee, and a church official, I think that it is abominable that Lambeth Palace has this money, but expects its congregants to increase it's giving, especially with the upcoming 'Generosity Week'! CoE numbers in the UK is decreasing, according to the last audit, everyone is feeling the economic squeeze and, depending on the locality of any given local church, parish and Diocese, attrition through age and lack of replacement worshippers means that assets are being turned into living museums or sold off across the country, to become everything from refurbished domiciles, through clubs to mosques! To inform people: the Church of Christ is The People, not the building, religion or organisation! And there are more of us than people think!

Basically is an organization of churches in England, under one common organization but as a federation. Inside the church there are groups that are basically Catholics and groups that are Protestants, while they share the same hierarchy with the King of England and the Archbishop of Canterbury at the head.

I joined a theologically conservative CofE church because I believe in the historic Anglican tradition. But I agree it's a shame to see its legacy run through the mud

in an episode of west wing, president bartlet's administration checked out a potential asylum-seeker's claim to be a christian by asking him about the bible and questions about his church and pastor that only a practicing christian would know, and a bullshitter wouldnt. (episode S2E08, "shiboleth")

Better idea, tell the local Mosque that they have converted from Islam to christianity and give them the address of teh hotel they are staying at... within a few months no more asylum seeker as the Quoranic penalty for apostacy is .... oops rather punitive and permanent.

In G-d the Father's economy there are *NO* 'denominations! There is *only* the Church Politic and, *especially* The Bride of Christ! Non-believers won't understand the subtle differences between those definitions and the many 'Christian' religions who all claim the 'definitive' versions of Christianity, especially (again) the Roman Catholic Church! If one comes to salvation in Jesus, it doesn't matter what flavour denomination one joins, or it shouldn't. Avnyway, the concept of 'religion' has always been mankind trying to reach a higher being, even though it might not be G- d, but themselves (atheism is self-worship) and, because flawed people run it, it is flawed, causing sectarianism, and it's no wonder that the World doesn't regard the Church Politic as it once did. Even in the Bible, G-d the Father railed against worthless words and rituals, and Jesus did the same as recorded in the Gospels! Check it out for yourselves! So, Catholic or Protestant, it doesn't matter, because most people in the Church actually *worships* the Church, in and of itself.

It looks like Nick, who has often admitted that he is Italian, may possibly belong to Italy's largest church, the Roman Catholic Church. His statement here that Peter founded the church reveals that he believes that Jesus said Peter was the Rock upon which the church would be founded. Forget that the bible has multiple references to the Rock, and it was very clear in all of those references that the Rock is GOD. I think this is the first thing I've heard Nick say that I disagree with. But he is a comedian, and there is a small possibility that his statement about Peter was sardonic.

@@deezynar Of course he's a Catholic. He disagrees with baby-killing. I don't think there's a Church of Italy. At least 17 Protestants were burned at the stake in Italy in the 18th century.
