I attended a performance of cultural anthropologist Joan-Andrea Hutchinson about 15 years ago. She told the audience that the saying was taken from Palisadoes rape and murder case. It either came out in court or was written in the newspaper that "Whoppy killed him with a fillip" (a swift blow to the head).

At the time "Backa Wall" was a slum shacks. When it was rebuilt with tenement buildings is when it became known as Tivoli.

Hi Alex, please research Industrial revolution and how the steel was stolen from Jamaica and used in many buildings and famous buildings in Britain. Reported in the Guardian Newspaper. "Industrial Revolution iron method was taken from Jamaica". Please do a research Jamaica has iron ore which would have made Jamaica very rich and its people better off today Britain Stoke the Iron from Jamaica 😮

Jamaica also has bauxite and limestone but we still ain’t rich, our goons and puppets of politicians made sure of that.

They never stole the iron ore, they stole the method and equipments used to purify the iron ore.This was a method invented and perfected from the days of slavery by some very ingenious metal workers from a district in St Thomas , Jamaica

@@ellihall2266 They stole the machines and technology took some to england and destroyed the ones remaining in the district then the man who stole the machines registered a patent un England as if the ideas and inventions was his and got all the benefits and recognition as the inventor of a new refining process for iron
