Inhabitants of the Alps, the Rhaetians appear in the classical sources in a very mixed light: skilled winemakers are at the same time ferocious marauders of the mountain passes; irreducible adversaries of Rome, then we rediscover them as one of the most valorous auxiliaries alongside of the legions.
With its roots in the Etruscan culture, and in part influenced by the Celtic and Venetic ones, this indomitable people of the mountains with its deeds has marked the history and culture of Trentino-Alto Adige and Tyrol, with echoes that still resonate in the folklore of the alpine valleys ...
