Huey Lewis and the News? I wonder if they are gonna tackle that whole ordeal? I loved Ray Parker Jr. in that classic flick, "Enemy Territory".

That was a cluster. Apparently the movie-makers wanted Huey Lewis and the News, didn't get him, then played "I Want a New Drug" to Ray and said, give us something like this, which he did. Then Huey Lewis sued him and got a settlement, with the provision of a non-disclosure agreement, which he later violated, leading to a counter-suit to get some of the money back.

@@sandal_thong8631 Supposedly Huey Lewis had nothing against Parker though and it was all managers going back and forth. Didn't look too deep into verifying what I just said though, I remember hearing it in some other video or documentary.

So, I love the Ghostbusters song, who doesn't? But it was like finding out Santa wasn't real when I found out the Ghostbusters song is a rip off of Huey Luis' song "I Want A New Drug". Its borderline the same song, just maybe improved. If you hear it, there is no doubt... I wonder if they touch on that in this documentary.

If course he does... Despite his talent, that song, with its stolen riff is all he'll ever be known for. Having said that, it is one of the best songs ever written so, if that's all he's got on his CV, I'd hire him in a heartbeat.

My very first concert was Earth, Wind and Fire with The Brothers Johnson, The Emotions and Ray Parker, Jr. & Raydio. Needless to say, it was EPIC! I’ll sum it up…from NE’s “Mr. Telephone Man” to Joe Sample and The Crusaders and all points in between. Enough said. A brilliant musician. Respect and love due. When will Michael Henderson get some love?

Back in 1984; when I 1st saw "Ghostbusters"; they played the Whole of the video to Ray Parker Jr's Theme tune first, before the movie started! (but when it came round again a few months later n I took my younger brother; it just played the movie!) 👍🏻

Who else shouted "He-Man" when he asked Who You Gonna Call? ;) For someone of my age, I pride myself on a fair amount - not a ton, but quite a lot compared to most Millennials - of knowledge on music from the Motown era (and other older music), and I had literally no idea how important Ray was. I can't wait to watch this.

Meanwhile, the court case for "Stairway to Heaven" was rigged for Led Zeppelin to win since they weren't allowed to play the two songs to the jury, so you'd have to know sheet music or be a music expert on the jury to find for the plaintiffs.

Hate to admit it but until this I did only know him from the Ghostbusters theme. My Mum is a huge Motown and Northern Soul fan and even she was surprised to see his connection to that.
