When raising my seven stairstep children, 7 in 10 years, I ALWAYS used a cotton tablecloth. The clothes would catch spills, which seemed to happen often, and crumbs. I would shake the crumbs outside and hang to dry spills. Then I would wash one load of tableclothes and kitchen towels per week. (Picked them up at garage sales.) They saved me a lot of messes and headaches. ❤

Yes! I agree with this so much. Our tablecloths have helped to keep our table in really good condition and it helps me to relax because I don't need to worry my boys will mark on the table.

When I remodeled my house, I had shutters installed. It was pricey but we have saved so much on our ac cost. I love how they are part of the house and not in the way that drapery can be. They are easy to clean and I receive compliments all of the time on them.

I watch a lot videos on decluttering and I love yours the best. Your Mom’s house used to look like the estate sales I go to, she has been doing great decluttering. It’s an on going process. It’s so inspiring to see you both working together. I go to estate sales once in awhile to remind me not to accumulate unnecessary stuff and not to leave my kids a burden when I die. Keep up the good work!

A tip for childrens clothes! Use a sharpie and put 1 dot on your oldest's clothes tag and 2 dots on your second son's. And when your second grows into the first's then you can put a 2nd dot on them. You can continue this if you have a 3rd son by putting 3 dots. 👍🏻

We live in the desert. Dust is the bane of my existence. Since I have asthma, we really don’t have windows or doors open. I do use air purifiers with hepa filters in most rooms. I’m a fanatic about cleaning HVAC filters monthly, using vacuum with hepa filter…..it has been a game changer. I can breathe easily inside.😁 clean or change your home’s filters often.

Hi Shannon, For the window treatment, what about matte window stickers? You can pick whatever shape and color that suits you. From the basic frosted that covers all, patterned, even rainbow one that will filter sunrays into pretty rainbow light. Btw you look lovely in that dressm so refreshing to see you in color! 😊

I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing few days away at the beach. Well, as best as you can, with 3 young kids. 😉 I ended up buying room darkening (blackout) curtains for my bedroom in my last home as the south sun was so hot during the summer. Hope you had a great vacation! I love your bedroom curtains - I think they look nice behind the headboard. And blinds are just sometimes necessary, especially in the bedroom. I think it's a better option than room darkening curtains that you would have to open and close each day. I also love your tablecloth - very practical with children. We always use a tablecloth when the grandchildren are visiting!

When my kids were close in size, it helped me out to assign a color to the child. I’d make a permanent marker dot on the tag, in the child’s color. This made sorting clothes a lot quicker. For hand me downs, we just changed colors. Thanks for sharing your video and motivating us! ❤

My kids actually share some of their clothes, especially shorts and shirts (3,5 and 5). But every kid has „special clothes“ only applying to one(boy and girl so underwear is separate and easy to sort). Probably they will wear more different clothes when they’re older.

2 ideas....ive done both. Block windows let in light but diffused. People can not see in.....you cant see out. No window treatments needed. The other thing is hiring a company to tint window. Again it cuts way back on brightness of light coming in. Also during day people can not see in window but you can see out. At night however when it is dark outside and lights are on inside....you need shades..... Hope this helps.

My bedroom window gets a lot of sun too, and it's a huge window, so We had a sun shade at 1 point that filtered the sun. Now we have a retractable awning outside the window that I can open and close With a remote control. and control the light, and it's awesome. The sun shade from home depot also worked excellent but I had to go outside and manually roll it up If I Wanted to let him a little more sunlight in the winter.

In Australia we have a double blind option, which you can still soften with a curtain in front. It is a blockout blind and a sheer blind. I’ve used them in windows like yours and the size window you have. So much better then Venetian blinds. I clean my mothers house yearly and every window is a wooden Venetian blind that has to be taken outside, hung from washing line and wash with soap and water (a mixture of dust, salt water and pollution from the coalfields). Was a lovely video to watch. Thank you 🙏

Loved this! Late in watching but did whole house clean too! I love to organize, especially when it leads to practicality/ease of use, not so much in a fake cosmetic way (excess labeling like cricut machines kinda stress me out seeing how those are being used). I'm down to only two more small boxes of old school papers to go through. I am able to better see what is something to save and what is not significant

My favorite organizing use for the risers now is to get two narrow bins that fit lengthwise, one for the top and bottom. It creates a little drawer system. So I can make use of vertical space in those higher up areas and still be able to easily access it by pulling out the narrow bins.

Could you do the cell shades that open from top and/or bottom? TBH they don't get that dusty! Worth the investment imo. And maybe wear a high-quality soft sleeping mask to block the rest of the light instead of using curtains? I am very sensitive to light but cell shades + sleeping mask and no bedroom curtains work great for me. Make sure you pay for the light blocking vs filtering finish on the shades if that is important to you...

Have you checked out the day and night shades from companies like blinds galore? They have shades that filter in daytime light and then you flip them up and they switch to black out blinds. It is an all in one blinds and depending on how you pull it up or down let’s light gently filter in for the day or block it out at night. I am sure there are lots of companies that make and sell them, I am in Canada and Blinds Galore came up when I searched US companies that sold them. They are great. My sister has them in her home and we are ordering something similar for ours.

@shannontorrens1 soliciting /səˈlɪsɪtɪŋ/ noun the action or fact of accosting someone and offering one's or someone else's services as a prostitute. "although prostitution was not itself an offence, soliciting was"

@@Blythe1967able That is funny, I guess soliciting can mean the same thing here it's pretty much saying don't offer anything because we are not interested. So it can mean it for that definition too. lol
