Two issues. One, Jennifer proves how judgemental women can be based on what they think men want. And two, the men proved that black women are always considered the least desirable. I think lot of people are so upset watching this because it's a visceral reminder of being rejected by other women, made to feel smaller and less than, instantly judged and othered based on shallow, surface-level assumptions that you can't do anything about. Those subtle gestures that sink a deep imprint. The way Jennifer was instantly excluded, ignored and had her feelings disregarded, will be reminiscent for so many people of how they were treated. And it's disheartening to see that it happens past high school. But the other girls were younger, and hopefully they will grow out of that. It was hard to watch Vera, Sky and Sophia move themselves down and then just stop at 4th place without even looking at Jennifer or saying a word to her.. As if it were so obvious that Jennifer should be at the bottom. There was very little thought for how she might feel about that.
