@@michaelgriffiths7937 For quite a while he's been contracted for (from memory) 18 races, even back in the ITV days he'd usually miss one race a year (initially due to Le Mans). @@Alan.livingston indycar is a spec series and even then drivers forgo battles to preserve pace for their strategy. The racing is great but refuelling still hinders it. In f1 every season following the ban has seen an increase in overtaking on track when compared to pre ban levels. The refuelled overcut was vastly more powerful than even DRS is currently. I have been an F1 fan since 1970 I have always watched live practices and qualification until this last couple of seasons because the last 5yrs has gotten continuously boring. It's so predictable that this season I haven't even watched a qualification, I only watch the highlights on KZfaq. When the only interesting thing about F1 is not the racing or the cars but who's in trouble and who's doing what to whom then F1 has lost the plot. I know that I am only one fan, but I believe F1 has gone the same way as a lot of other sports, it's not about the fans it's about the money.

Wait til 2026 when the batteries that provide 50% of a car's power will have to be scrapped after a crash. That's the case with EV's now, where if the battery case is even scratched in a mishap, the car goes off warranty and, in addition, cannot be insured. This happened to a guy in Canada. It's on YT.

The current cars are only as long as they are because designers want to make the sidepods and rear cowl into the aero shapes they are. Yeah, there's some crash structures, but they could make the cars much shorter and still have hybrid. The easiest way to make them lighter is to got back to ICE only and ditch all the batteries, ERS etc, without the massive torque, they can make the wheels & tyres lighter.

However I do wonder how long is contracted for with SKY Sports F1 and who is most likely to takeover his role.

2026 is very close when a big rule change is coming... does it still seem like teams will need to harvest electric energy from the ice? I'm not sure the regulation changes result in better racing. What would have been amazing is if there were no regulation changes in 2022, RB had closed the gap, Mclaren were making leaps and bounds, pity Ferrari tried to cut corners, Williams would certainly be in business. DRS has taken the joy out of overtakes and you've got to be close enough to put it to use anyway

Martin looks tired. I hope he’s okay. There are no good news stories in F1 behind Max. It all feels very stale and stagnant. I’ve never seen such a margin of dominance that Max has and the others all know it. I doubt Red Bull Racing would bring Carlos Sainz to compete against Max Verstappen. Currently, Red Bull Racing is comfortable with their drivers not racing each other within the team, and they will likely aim to maintain this setup. On the other hand, the Sainz family's strong ties with Audi might mean that Carlos could secure a seat with Sauber, even if it means spending at least a year racing in the midfield
