I live in Slovakia and I was volunteering to help refugees fleeing from Ukraine during winter by driving a van with donated food and winter clothing etc. I met couple of British guys near border, they helped me unload the van, all late 30 - early 40. They said they are wtih Red Cross. I think one of them said he is a doctor, other 2 had some admin jobs. They were really down to earth, funny, regular dudes. Later, during the evening my Ukrainnian friend (he has since been drafted and now fights on the front) and I spoke and he asked me what I was doing with those guys. I said, they helped me to unload the van and joked around a bit. He said, those guys are military advisors from UK, probably SAS. I never confirmed it, but if they were SAS I would have never guessed they are even in military, no bulging muscles, no visible tattoos, no distinguisgible gestures, even their faces seem unremarkable.

But even to do selection requires an extremely switched on and superfit individual, whose parent unit thinks he has a chance to pass , they wont approve just anyone to go for selection because they will just come straight back and it will make the parent unit look bad .

@@broadband1820 @broadband1820 We are talking about completing entry requirements which in the military is all endurances and perservance, not intelligence. They do what they are told, there is no critical thought or there would have been no Iraq, no Vietnam, no war crimes in Northern Ireland, etc. Their split-second decision making as you say is just survival instincts and rote learning. The military wasn't an option for me, I had an education and a brain.
@broadband182010 ай бұрын
@shanemackk And once again, you haven't a clue what you are banging on about. To start with, if you want to go in as an Officer you need a high level of education,and that's only the start. You need to pass the entrance test and sit in front of a board of 4 or 5 people who will then decide if you're worthy. There's a documentary about Royal Marines Officers,all the way from recruitment, right through training and into their commando units,it's pretty intense. It's not just about brains that you arrogantly profess to have,its about personality and having other certain character traits. If you want to learn a trade,again you need a good level of education. Then if it's infantry it's the basic entrance test. You mentioned about survival instincts more than brains,that is just so wrong. Anyone can act out of pure survival,it takes a certain type of thinking to do it professionally and the balls as well. You also mentioned about crimes in N.ireland and waffled on about other wars around the world. Yes, I agree there has been unlawful things done,but unfortunately that's human nature,no one is perfect and where there is human intervention there will always be mistakes intentional or not. But its interesting you brought up N.ireland,so I guess we know what side of the argument you agree with. If being in the military takes no brains,then go and try it. You wouldn't last a week.PS. You said you HAD A BRAIN 🧠 AND EDUCATION. What happened to them?For someone so intelligent, that was a pretty dumb remark LOL. Over to you college boy 👦.
