There is not much to say. Tuition is cheap but otherwise its an ok university. Most of the money goes into the pocket of upper management or professors.

I stay in Calgary, did masters from University of Calgary. I have been to Toronto and Vancouver both, the biggest thing I observed was traffic. The roads in both Vancouver and Toronto are very congested especially in peak hours, Vancouver area bridges are choke points in peak hours😅. In Calgary, it appears they have built highways, other roads taking into account the population growth in next 10-15 years. One can observe the same in thing in Airport as well, Calgary's airport is really big as compared to the population of city as of now.

I think one thing you missed is that lots and lots of calgary roads dont go all the way north to south or east to west. Calgary during the oil boom was super congested as well. I don't know vancouver well but i know toronto and although the highways get busy, there are tons of back roads you can use to continue without traffic jams. Plus the share lane in many roads allow for easier merging. Yes toronto is busy but it will continue to boom.

@@asadb1990 That's good to know, I came in 2021. Did the airport also remain really busy during oil boom? What I have seen is that the airport size is comparable to Toronto & Vancouver (I might be wrong) with very less flights.

@Harman_Chopra yeah 2021 was during pandemic. But its generally pretty slow even now. And yes the airport is huge but they tried to expand the airport quickly but its been under construction for around 10 years. The biggest construction companies of canada worked on it or are still in process. But its a mess because the airport has constantly been laying off their management staff. I worked for ellisdon and i remember they were having trouble getting paid because the calgary airport client laid off many people who were handling payments.

visited 1 week ago Calgary , banff, Vancouver. Didn't like Calgary its soo boring . North east OMG don't live in that area. In Calgary downtown not more than 40 to 50 building, its micro mini downtown

If you lived in gta or vancouver, nothing else compares. Plus, if you are working in calgary, you live in constant fear of losing job quickly. Employers are becoming toxic because they know unemployment is high and lots of people available. In the case of vancouver and ontario, there are tons of jobs and you can change jobs much quickly.

@LifeofRishabh yes only mountains , it's hard to live with mountains only 🙈. Shopping centers not that much so many local shops not that much. I like only area Aspen woods in North West. Tram system also looks very very old. So many things OMG. Just lakes and mountains are good and that's it.

Alberta is getting ruined with herds of sheep arriving from Ontario. Its no more liveable and will be the next brampton. Banff and all the parks are overcrowded throughout the year. Wait untill the winter sets in you wont have anywhere to go. With very limited jobs and not that much earning opportunities (no cash jobs for students) wont recommend anyone to move here unless you have a good supporting job. Word of advice- Don’t fall for glittery stuff people show around on KZfaq and other platforms.
