Subhannallah l’m Muslim and immigrant who lost her home to civil war subhannallah l didn’t think l needed something like this to understand what’s going on around the world especially turkey and Syria. I seen a man who was pulled under the rubble and he was reading last 2 verses Surah al baqarah while rescue crew were get him out, If he accepted this is qadar and grateful to be a live and l ask Allah SWT to reward him and everyone who lost their lives or loved ones this tragedy. let’s help our brothers and sisters especially in Syria, it’s really hurtful to see dead refugee’s bodies are being brought back but no effort to rescue them under the rubble or the live ones are suffering from homelessness/hunger and cold. Thank you for this lecture. I truly believe that Allah had a plan for the believers and I believe that those who died in this earthquake were martyred. only Allah knows their level of iman. There were many many of people never prayed 5 times, never obeyed Allah’s commands, drank alcohol and partied. They lived a life of extremism. They also died in this earthquake. Firavun also tried to ask forgiveness in his last breath but Allah didnt accept his repentance. May Allah help the survivors of this earthquake. May Allah elevate their iman and make all of us better in our deen.

There is a a big message in this event, God is testing our love and our messy towards our fellow men. Blood is thicker and water. Sura The Inevitable Event, 56:10-16, “And those foremost in Faith will be Foremost in the Hereafter. These will be those Nearest to Allah: In Gardens of Bliss: A number of people from those of old, abs a few from those of later times. They will be on Thrones encrusted with gold abs precious stones, reclining on them, facing each other.” (May Allah accept in His Presence in Jannah all those who lost their loved ones from this Dunya).

When some say this is a punishment of Allah - they are correlating this tragedy to what's mentioned in the Quran of the many calamities that God sent to mankind as a form of punishment. This MAY BE true even for a portion of the population due to idol worshiping and in bringing any other names next to God. HOWEVER, as Mufti (also) mentioned - NO ONE has the authority OR the knowledge to make such a statement. Also, at times the people [spectators] are being put to test during such tragedies to see what would they DO in action to help a fellow being [Muslim - OR non-Muslim]. So, instead of judging - leave that to God and help in whichever way you possibly can - even with Dua! This world is truly a testing ground. We don’t know when our time is coming. 🙏🤲

God enjoy human suffering.

Though it’s worth critiquing at best and criticising at worst , I’m not doing it either but with the simple logic so evident in the Quran itself. Allah says very clearly in the Quran that he has created everything in balance. The first was the creation of the universe itself - the centripetal force countering in equal measure the centrifugal force of the orbiting planets for example. If not every orbiting entity would have collided with each other to destroy everything. Like wise he created iblis in opposition to himself as an act of balance. Then we have in physics action and reaction are equal and opposite for balance. So are go for come , No for yes , evil for good , cruelty for mercy , suffering for enjoyment in our daily life. The world cannot have one sided existence with only enjoyment without suffering. There has to be suffering among the innocents as well. If we do not experience suffering how can we appreciate enjoyment. If iblis was not created how would we recognise Allah. It’s all common sense in the balance of his creation. I think it’s the most commonsensical explanation why suffering must exist in the world in balance with enjoyment.
