The Campulance is a 2002 Ford E450 Marque Commando 164 Class III ambulance powered by the Ford 7.3l Powerstroke diesel engine and a 4 speed + overdrive transmission. Lefty is a 65lb Staffordshire Terrier (best I can tell) that came from the Verona Street Animal Shelter in March 2014 at the age of 9 months. We have been living full time in the campulance since July 2019.

Sorry for your job loss. Companies have no loyalty to their long time older employees. It was a way for them to hire someone younger at lesser pay. Companies way of saving themselves money. Which stinks. A person can go many times slow down steep inclines but only one time fast. You are using excellent safety judgment by doing so. Never let traffic push you. Interesting to learn of your past life. Thank you for the video. Have a blessed day.

Taking the "First Step" into the unknown is the hardest part of your new journey. From that point, it's almost all downhill from there. You need to pull your feet out of the mud, the plaining stage, and build up some momentum. The best thing you can do for yourself is believe that the path you have chosen is most likely going to be the wrong one and you may have to start over and go in a different direction until you find what is really right for you. That sounds a lot like life in general.

How ironic, I have an AA in graphic technology and was a camera ready artist for a few years. My biggest client was the Oregon State Bar for legal magazines. Unfortunately not able to make enough to make it viable since we had two little kids and daycare was almost as high as my pay. Your story is a real success of living an authentic life and not working yourself to death for others gain of wealth. Take care out there. This is the new American Dream. To be free! Just a suggestion ( fun for us viewers) would you consider wrapping up your videos with a little Lefty footage. Just a little clip of zen for us. It’s just a nice fade out of a dogs life...just a thought. 😊

wow didnt know all that. Almost exactly what happened to me. Last December I was laid off out of the blue. Then during my job search the virus thing hit. After all this, I too dont feel like buddy-buddying a new boss anymore. I have been studying ambulance and bus conversions. I think my plan will be similar to yours. Start work again to save for my rig while building a business I can manage from the road. My industry is filmmaking, video, and animation design. So a computer and wifi is all I will ever need. Right now Im unemployed but I plan to soon rise from the ashes. What a way to start out my 30's. Thanks for the video.

I love your comment. Do exactly what you described. Land a new job with the plan in place to resign once your rig is ready and you've straightened out your financial plan. There's a real calmness when you're working a new job knowing that there's an end date in sight. I'm rooting for you!

Nice posting, my house is around two weeks from going on the market, I will be moving into my van heading over to Arizona for a while, I was reading the comments on here, I was camped out with Hobotech and Sasnak at the RTR this year, and I also camped out with Hobotech last year at the RTR and we camped out in Lake Havasu and Sedona for a while, and we went to the Overland Expo at Flagstaff last year. I will probably meet up with him again and camp out for a while. Kind of scary selling my house but oh well.

When you took the job planning on only about 16 weeks to wait for the weather to change did you tell them you were short term? It is so costly to go through the hiring process for a company. They also probably turned down people that were needing a job for long term when they picked you. hopefully you did not give them the belief that you were planning on staying long term.
