Anakin was an exception to the regular rule of the Jedi Order he was older and he had familiar bonds with his mother. These two factors alone already made him stand out, but him being declared the chosen one made him even more outstandish.

The wild emotional stunting of the Jedi Order was its greatest flaw. It’s not surprising when they met someone with emotion they had no idea how to handle Anakin.

im surrised jacen solo was treated way better than new canons ben solo in old eu han solo was not a dead beat dad like they made out to be in new canon and im surprised disney almost destroyed star wars with the force awakens the last edi and the rise of skywalker each film in new canon starting with the force awakens is pure trasjfire and garbage plus disney only made 2 good movies inbetween the sequel trilogy those are rogue one and solo the last jedi is pure trashfire same goes with the force awakens and the rise of skywalker

i feel sory for anakin skywalker but when they made the sequel trilogy they no longer made him the chosen one bringin back palpatine ruined both anakin and lukes journeys

I think the bullying was also a big part of the reason why Anakin was so fiercely protective, and sometimes outright possessive of the people who he loved. The idea of losing people who actually mattered to him and who honestly loved him back was too much for him because all he had ever known was hatred, resentment, jealousy, and pain. The idea of losing his loved ones and being stuck with people who didn't give a shit about him must have frightened him to his core.

There's something special about younger Anakin with the fresh golden cybernetic arm. It just looks awesome and almost angelic. Love that version of the character

Yeah, for me personally that's my nostalgia. Of course we all love the OT but I grew up with the Prequels so that golden arm brings joy to me.

The unfortunate thing about this is just like in the real world the people in charge are always quick to punish the victim who retaliates but never bothering to punish the bullies if the other younglings would have been punished for constantly goading anikan into get mad and lashing out just as much as anikan for lashing out they would have maybe learned to treat eachother better but unfortunately the other younglings learned they can bully anikan all they want because it is only anikan that would get punished and anikan learned to start thinking that everyone was against him so he had no where to go when he was scared or feeling deep uncontrollable emotions so he hid them and tried to be the perfect jedi and as we see at the end of revenge of the sith they just explode

Those that left allowed their minds to open and as such, woke up to reality, and embraced it. Anakin realized this to late. And the concil was to stupid or to cowardly to review who they were. Luke changed this later because he knew they had been wrong for a long time. You cannot change human nature. They will be who they are.

Luke ultimately viewed the Jedi as flawed because Of the decision to keep he and Leia a secret from your right the Jedi didn’t know real life they never understood the twins were the only chance to bring anakin back to the light I blame obi wan the most for not trying

Yeah he changed that in legends. Unfortunately after book of Boba fett it looks like Disney luke is making the same stupid mistakes as the old order. Hence the terrible sequel trilogy.

Okay. GTFO you troll. -_- Anakin killing the younglings had fucking jack to do with a "vendetta". Those younglings were murdering grown-ups in cold blood, like the 9 years old one who killed four stormtroopers in cold blood (they were only trying to apprehend him and he was resisting arrest), those stormtroopers' families are still mourning and grieving the loss of these loved ones of theirs. Those younglings were 8 or 9, they were old enough to know that murder is wrong. If you don't want to die, don't murder or you will be killed in self-defense or because you are endangering the lives of innocent bystanders. Those younglings had it coming. They were violent and dangerous, they refused to surrender and to be re-educated and assimilated into the democratically elected galactic empire (the galactic empire was democratically elected and voted in and thus was the will of the people), and they wouldn't stop killing, so they had to be eliminated, the Emperor had to have them killed because those kids would grow up to create more violent religious radical extremist groups (like the prequel-era cult-like Jedi order) or would try to murder his subjects in the streets and in their homes and as Emperor he had a duty to protect his people from this threat and any other threat and he also had to prevent an unending civil war because an unending civil war is what the Rebellion wanted. What would you have him do? These were violent, psychotic children who killed adults in cold blood and they had been indoctrinated by a religious radical extremist group (the prequel-era cult-like Jedi order), by a bunch of terarists, after being kidnapped from their parents as babies, taken to a creepy temple, trained to kill, and brainwashed into killing every single person in the galaxy who doesn't share their interpretation of the Force religion and anyone who questions or disagrees with the Jedi cult's council. The Emperor and the authorities had the right to fight back against those terarists, that doesn't make them evil. Victims are not evil for refusing to lay down and die. They shouldn't have to spend the rest of their lives looking over their shoulder every 10 seconds because violent religious radical extremists are trying to murder them. This had to stop! Best quote in Star Wars EU (and I couldn't agree more with him about the Galactic Empire and the pro-Rebel propaganda): "I encounter civilians like you all the time. I’m 12 and a youngling… and I wouldn’t bully people like him. I was bullied myself but I don’t go and did what he did. PLUS one kid younger than me called him MASTER Anakin and was really nice. One of the nicest kids and he went and took his life and the others too. Anakin’s still wrong dude

Unless this is based on non canon information it's my understanding that Anakin was not trained with the other younglings because the council forbade it. I thought that was made pretty clear in episode 1. He was taken in as a Padawan and trained directly by Obi wan Kenobi, so how would he have been the older misunderstood kid in class with the other younglings.

Secondly, they broke the law in the way that they dashed into the chancellor's office with their blades out. If Yoda was thete they would not have made a move so reckless.

It’s interesting how similar the Jedi practices were to real life Christian’s who literally stole children from their homes. The upbringing of the younglings seems much nicer though. I haven’t heard accounts of Jedi children being used as slave labour while being subjected to years of physical and sexual abuse.

He was nice and misunderstood at first. The emotional damage from the war, Palpatine's ploys and the imperfections of the Jedi merely exacerbated his traits to a completely unhealthy point.

The whole child kidnapping thing and chosen one crap were some of the many mistakes Lucas made in the Prequels. Thank God better writers took over and did their best to make them more palatable. Having Anakin being bullied because he was a slave and spent time with his mom is plain stupid, and having him being referred to as chosen one was even worse. If his fellow Jedi apprentices, was never a fan of "padawan", were bullies, it was them who were not fit to be Jedi at all. That is what makes the idea of training kids to be Jedi so wrong. Jedi were supposed to be like police/protectors, a job that should only be considered by adults. A job that required commitment, dedication and as such, commanded respect. And even then there was the possibility of someone abandoning or retiring from the order for different reasons. Lucas really screwed up with those films. There were many ways Anakin could've been challenged that could've led him to becoming Vader, other than being accosted at the end by a pedo like Palpatine, as he was portrayed, or being overly competent.

Order 66. Also, it's impossible for the young jedi to bully him. Its against thier rules. What uptight jedis not following the rules? It can't be so. Even though they picked the wrong person to play him as a teen. They picked a wimp. If it would have been real. He wouldn't of been a wimp like he was. Why does star wars always pick wimpy people for strong characters. Best person in all of star wars was Harrison Ford / Han. Though I must say Carrie Fisher played a Jewish princess quite well. And that one guy Cariso was also pretty spot on. Of all the line characters Mark Hampton was the best. I like Mark. But in new hope he was a wimp. But was possible for him to grow into the Jedi he became. Yet the one that played Anakin as a teen was a real wimp. And the ones by Disney, even though I thought couldn't be worse were infact were. Does George Lucus really not know what a tough guy is? I like Harrison Ford. But when he is hands down the toughest. There are problems.

no hes not. thats why luke could turn him back to the light side in ep6, the whole point of vader is despite him being so powerful he was still conflicted and not fully commited to the darkside and it was all a result of how the jedi order as a whole treated and neglected his emoitions.
