This resonates so much as i quit coffee 8 days ago. It really surprised me how hard it has been. 🥵 I suffered the whole week of horrible headache and muscle pain in my legs and back. And never been that tired.. today is the first day without headache or muscle pain. 🎉 I will never go back now when i have seen and felt what coffee makes to your system. Luckily we have good caffeine free coffee in Finland so i can still have the taste of morning coffee. 🥰

This is exactly what happened to me as well… I had my first panic attack 2 months ago (I am 37 and was drinking coffee heavily for the last 15 years) and after that very frightening experience (I thought I was having a heart attack and ended up in the ER room) I knew that I had to give up coffee immediately. Interestingly I had no withdrawals and had more ENERGY the first week and I am now grateful for this panic attack. I am saving so much $ and nurturing my nervous system at the same time. I only wish I gave up coffee sooner bc honestly I just drank it for its energy and “focus” not so much for its flavor at all.

I've probably had two coffees in my life (it tastes gross to me!) and recently, have felt I've been missing out, due to being close to an artisan coffee place. Your raw portrayal of your experience is shocking and has completely shifted my perception, so thank you. I very much admire your overall intention of ridding yourself of the 'noise': unnecessary mental, physical, emotional stuff that is an impediment to healing. Your channel, more than any other, has made me aware that, in our aversion to silence, we are not only trying to escape our emotional difficulties, but often adding more things that need to be healed from: addictions, toxic relationships, maladaptive patterns. Eventually, you are forced to realise that the way you are working, isn't working. Listening to your videos makes me increasingly aware that I can't continue to avert my own healing journey. It's scary though 🙏

So glad you quit. I watch coworkers struggle with it and all claim to have anxiety and panic attacks and it’s hard to even talk with them sometimes because they are so jittery and unable to communicate properly. I never really liked it and to be able to I would have to add a bunch of sugary things to it and I’ve since cut out all processed sugar completely. I’ve been vegan almost 10 years and it’s also what gives me my energy. This last year in July my Doberman Venus started having seizures and the stress from it was causing me to lose sleep so I went to see my Dr and ask for help but while discussing my stress from falling asleep (she would only have seizures as she was coming out of sleep so every time she would move during the night I would jump up thinking one was happening) my Dr said btw it’s time for your first mammogram. I almost didn’t go I was too worried about Venus and thought being vegan made me somewhat invincible to cancer but I knew I had several family members who had it and sure enough so did I. Stage 0 DCIS and the PALB2 gene mutation increasing my risk to 70% so I said get them off I don’t care I’m not living my life worrying it will come back and I don’t need them. So September 1st I had surgery and pathology found a small piece of stage 1 so I know I made the right choice. I knew I wanted to stay flat as I wanted all tissue removed to lower my risk to less than 1%. Since then I’ve changed my diet even more to be lower carb no processed carbs no processed sugar and higher healthy fats as there is a lot of research that ketosis starves the glucose that feeds cancer so I do fasting often as well and it gives me a lot of clarity and energy. I was following chef AJ and she interviewed Kiyomi of Sei Mee tea who came up with a process to cold press remove the caffeine from her green tea and now I drink her tea 3xs a day for the cancer fighting benefits and it tastes delicious and I’ll never have coffee again. Sorry for the long post but bless all of you please stay healthy and take care of yourselves 💚🌱

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time with your health but you are absolutely right that food is the answer. I am considering making this video- unfortunate there is soo much anti-vegan hate on the internet it is unbelievable. People get very triggered by Vegans just wanting to tell their story and share a positive message and feel personally attacked and therefore attack back- it’s really unfortunate. It is a deep passion of mine though and one of the best decisions I’ve ever made that absolutely turned my health around- so I will attempt an informative video, though likely the trolls will still come 😅

I know! It’s really unfortunate and frustrating at times, too. Either way, I hope you do make this video sometime, whenever you’re ready!! Either way, thank you for sharing about your coffee journey! It was really helpful to me. ❤

I was so happy to see this video! This May will be my 3 years without any caffeine. I quit to get my migraines under control (I did) but yep, all the positive things you listed (yes, birds dress me in the morning, that's just how it is without caffeine /wink) totally happened. Not smoking, drinking, having caffeine and also being vegan is pretty rough in Hungary. You are suddenly excluded from so many social rituals, especially as an artist, but it's a small price to pay for not having those crashes, migraines, shakes, AND also feeling balanced most of the time. We are on the same wavelength about many, many things! Excited for more of your videos! (Also, very happy with the clean, straightforward, just talking videos. So many YTs are just too overwhelming for me. You keep it real, just chatting to us, hangin' with friends, telling stories. Refreshing.

I didn’t start drinking Joe until I got married! In fact, on our first “date” at Starbucks I told my husband that I didn’t drink coffee. I knew/know it’s terrible for my anxiety. Somewhere along the way I got hooked and feel like I cling to it too much. I gave it up for two pregnancies, so I know it’s possible. I would love this out of my life. Going on a year without the cupa Joe and haven’t looked back. Only problem is all the coffee paraphernalia that’s left over. Can’t seem to part with that yet because I spent so much money on these items. Keep thinking when someone visits they will want coffee, and I’ll have the stuff for them. But, I literally live within walking distance of a Starbucks, so I can likely send that phantom somebody there. Ahhh, I frustrate myself so! 😩 I just need to get rid of that crap. It’s a process, I’m learning. 😊

Coffee is ingrained into every community known to man, like the health community, the minimalist community, the student community etc. It's in consumerism, in every supermarket and home goods store, on a mug with a sign saying 'I am not me before coffee' or slogan cushions, making it fashionable and quirky. There are more coffee places in just one city to chose from than we could visit in a year.

Wow thanks for sharing your journey with us. I can relate to the panic attacks because for a number of years as an adult I had panic attacks to the point where I thought I was having heart attacks I couldn't breathe and I couldn't get through my day and finally I had to be put on some medication. Thankfully that didn't last long and I learned to control it and I now 10 or 15 years later I only have occasional panic attacks. I never associated coffee drinking with it so you have given me food for thought. I have been a coffee drinker all my life and I drink it black at home but go several times a week to my local espresso stand and get a single shot espresso. I have been thinking though lately of cutting because it is expensive to get it at the espresso also to make it at home with all the equipment needed. I chuckled when you said it was a legal drug because it reminded me of Tom Hanks character in the movie " you've got mail" when he tells his assistant as they are about to open a new book store with a coffee shop in it that they sold their customers " books and legal addictive stimulants." Wish me well on cutting coffee out of my life too.

I hear you- it’s one hell of a drug! And the ritual is a big part of the addiction. If you truly don’t see a problem in your life from it then that’s fine! Part of it also is the health benefits of coffee, like newer studies showing lower body fat and lower risk of diabetes. But I stick to 1.5 to 2 cups a day tops. Caffeine is absolutely a drug and I wish people were more aware of the negative affects of it, especially on your sleep and anxiety/panic. I do a tolerance break every few weeks but I love the taste of black coffee. I limit myself to a cup a day and some green tea when I’m in the mood. Coffee does have health benefits and that’s part of the reason I continue to drink it, but the benefits are outweighed by the negative effects if too much is consumed 😢

I stopped the flavored sugary espresso drinks from coffee shops because it was definitely an addiction and it was contributing to my cholesterol. I’ve always been high end of normal and my LDL/HDL was always good!!! My diet is perfect snd I exercise! The sugar and carbs was just allowing my body to hold on to cholesterol and needless to say I topped the scale of being in high normal to actually being over 200 for my total cholesterol! Not to mention my sleep was sporadic and I was noticing dark circles and occasionally have palpitations! I know black filtered coffee is the better option but I don’t own a coffee pot and most of these coffee houses don’t filter through the old school paper filters…they have more drip coffee and cold brew versions which are still not ideal for me.

Ive been struggling quitting caffiene for the past couple years. It really is a subtle drug, i somehow always convince myself yea, i can do it once a week on weekdays no probleeeem. Then turns to ok, every other day. Before you know it your dragging your feet with a stank attitude until you drink it daily. Even when things are going so good naturally it then becomes a reward lol. Im coming to terms knowing that I cant use it in moderation it is what it is.

@Exploravore
@Exploravore 2 ай бұрын
I really don’t crave sweets- potato chips are my weakness lol but I don’t eat them often. The body is smart and will often crave things because it needs a nutrient. If you are craving sweets you likely need some glucose! But instead of chocolate or candy or cakes try fruit and in general healthy carbohydrate rich food like potatoes and rice and legumes. I eat loads of those so rarely crave anything sugary. If I eat lower carb by accident then I find I’ll be craving sugar, bc my body needs it ;)

Everry thing that give us addiction its bad for our body, mind and spirit. This is a law of life. Coffee addiction its like tobacco adiction or other intoxication for the body: give you on short moment pleasure and relaxing but on the long run if you whant to same pleasure and relaxing you need to take it more and more, untill you dont feel anymore the pleasure that you fealt from beginning, it becomes only an automatic reflex. What its intresting in my case its exactly what you talk in the video. I quit Coffee long time a go , for a period. It was great! Than when I start this job were Im working now ,I start again drinkin it. Little in the begining, and now I drink like 4 or 5 cups per day, because its a job with anlot of stress level and somehow, in my mind, I say to myself that drinking it calm me down, in the moment. But its only in my mind because you can obtain the saime level on calmness dribkin only a cup of warm water with honey inside. Problem its the cofein that make you dependent.... So I better to quit for alll drinkin coffe. What its intresting is that all the people who have lets say bussy life, they are coffe drinkers. Its an modern society dependency like: alcohol, tobacco, drugs etc.. So my opinion its the best thing that happens to you.: quitting coffee. This is other thing that give you fredom! Have a nice sunny day😊!
