Ian doesn’t get recognized enough for his work and the reason why smosh is still a thing today. Smosh actually had their most successful year ever post Anthony leaving with Ian being the head

I disagree with him not getting enough recognition lol, people say this EVERYTIME someone praises Anthony, Ian does get a lot of recognition, for 4 years most of the audience has recognized him as the leader of smosh while anthony built his second brand

learning about the duo coming back made me the most happy person in the world. i never hated what ian did for the channel after he left, rather i found it pretty good in my eyes because it was kinda trendy and funny as fuck. but the duo coming back makes everyone on this entire planet more happy.

Fun fact Smosh made it to the top of the list in subscribers 3 different times, being the only channel to do so. Once in 2006, another in 2007, and lastly in 2013 where they were later the first to hit 10 million subscribers!!

I’m happy you didn’t bring down the work that Ian and the rest of the Smosh cast did without Anthony here. So many essays talking about Smosh’s history always talk about that time in a very negative light and as a fan of Smosh post-Anthony that’s really frustrating.

They were like 22 and youtube was unexplored, defy also worked quite well for them and gave them funds for many years despite its flaws, its not necessarily a huge mistake, the only thing is they gave too much creative control to them by becoming employees + sold it for salaries and stock
