Why are the Tories 'obsessed' with Angela Rayner's living arrangements? | LBC

12 күн бұрынAngela Rayner has described Prime Minister Rishi Sunak - who is 5'7 - as a "pint-sized loser" during a feisty exchange at Prime Minister's Questions.
Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden countered the jibes by suggesting the "right honourable landlady" should step down, adding the she might start claiming the House of Commons as her primary residence if the pair were required to deputise again.
Rayner had already begun the exchange with a plea for the Conservatives to stop "obsessing" about her living arrangements and instead focus on banning no-fault evictions, saying that after 14 years the Conservative party has "failed renters, they've failed leaseholders and they've failed mortgage-holders".
Andrew Marr is joined by Editor of Prospect UK Alan Rusbridger to discuss the fiesty exchange and the fallout of the the accusations against the Shadow Deputy.

As a long working class tax payer, if I didn’t pay the appropriate TAX, or didn’t designate my place of residence correctly to avoid capital gains tax, I would be investigated as well? Rayner has been outspoken against other MP’s and now the focus is on her, She and her loyal supporters seem to think this is unfair? If proved she did try to get away with capital gains tax, then She has brought this on herself!!!!

I think it's an own goal. All it has done has increase the prominence of one of Labours biggest assets. Like Boris, a little bit of notoriety does Ange no harm at all. So as they keep her in the news, and she keeps on treating it as she does, more and more people are aware of her and liking what they see.

Were you watching the same PMQs Andrew? Oliver Dowden was absolutely pathetic. She completely outplayed him. And is Alan Rusbridger seriously suggesting The Sun or the Mail decides the fate of the parties I didn't happen with Beergate or save Johnson with the ambushed by a cake story.
