I'm installing the almost impossible-to-find RSI load bars on my Smartcap as well as an OVS 180-degree awning. Let me know what else you would like to see on the truck. If I get enough views I'll install a supercharger on it to make 700 horsepower! I'm trying to build the ultimate bug-out truck.

This is the sister channel, wait maybe cousin. I don't know. It's the second HAXMAN channel. Here I can show more gear reviews for survival, gardening, off-road, emergency preps, off-grid, and landscaping. You know, basic man stuff. I'll also show projects that don't quite fit on HAXMAN.

That is very impressive! And the "Legs" reference....😁😁😁👍 Now I'm looking forward to an actual "we used it this week and...." review, Haxman! As for needing that extra hand, isn't that what kids are for???? Like that there's tent sides available too.... like to see those at work! Well done! Take care, be safe and God bless!

Wait, are you thinking about building your own slide in pop up style camper? That would be an awesome build to see. I currently have a travel trailer I use when we go camping, but I’ve always had a fascination with the slide in campers and even the roof tents with the ladder. The price for the those has always been extremely high so a diy one would be very cool to see especially with a cost breakdown. Loving the new channel keep it up!

I’m thinking about doing one of the bed campers that aren’t enclosed like the slide ins. It’s basically what I already have but the popup is attached with a pass through. It let’s you use the bed like normal but converts to camping easily.

The flex in the awning is coming from not having the bracket right at the back corner with the hinge. If you move the awning down the car and have the bracket right or as close to the rear hinge that folds out and around a lot of that flex will be fixed. Another bonus from doing this, you will also have the part over the rear tailgate covering or just on the roofline as well.

i threw a Rhino-Rack batwing on my F150, love it. I just have a ARE topper on the back of the truck now and a BedRug (also awesome) and i built out some simple bunks for my son and I for overnight fishing/hunting trips. However I am seriously thinking about going to a popup "camper" instead. I really like the Lone Peak Overland setup and right now they are probably the best bang for the $ out there, otherwise the Go Fast Camper is probably my next choice. Either way they are pricy, and there are some guys here on YT that have built their own, so i have thought about going that direction as well. It would give me a good excuse to buy some more tools and learn how to weld :)
@HaxmanXTRA
@HaxmanXTRA Жыл бұрын
Exactly! I need to learn how to weld too. I’ve looked at the lone peak. It’s a huge bargain compared to the others. I’ve been thinking about building a pop up for a year but the lone peak makes me rethink that.
@Kevin-gh1cn
@Kevin-gh1cn Жыл бұрын
@@HaxmanXTRA yeah the DIY popups are still $3k-4k in materials and then I still need to buy a welder, figure out how to weld, build it and then rip it apart and rebuild it to fix all the mistakes I made :) The lone peak price point makes just buying one pretty attractive. It has some pretty nice features you don't find in the more expensive campers.

Like the video, but not big on the product. Any rain water on the truck will flow down the sides of the cap and splash people under the awning. Seems like a big tarp would be a better solution and just as easy to set up.

Instead of using the eye-bolts for tensioning, could you have just hooked the straps together and tensioned it that way?
@HaxmanXTRA

That might be possible but I think it would have too much swing in it without an immobile latch point.

That seems like an unnecessarily complex product. Why not just a more versatile, high-quality tarp and stake-out legs, maybe some suction attachments?

Take the L support brackets you are concerned about and weld a triangle piece at the bend or have some else do it if you are not a welder.
