Why Aren’t Wild Cats As Big As Bears?
Bears and wild cats are among the most successful animals in the entire carnivora order thanks to a combination of adaptability, intelligence, and amazing physical prowess.
One key difference between them is size, with the biggest bears being larger than the biggest cats. Today’s video explores this issue, including the reasons and circumstances that have led to the physical dimensions of modern bears and cats.
Why do you think that wildcats, although they are formidable hunters, have not reached the size of bears? You have a different opinion from us, or you want to add something that we missed, write to us in the comments!

I love your video! The fact that you use updated facts is what I find most impressive, people are still blinded by the lies that Siberian tigers in the wild weigh 108-306kg, and this was the weight range for captive specimens as you rightly noted in the video. The only issues I have are: 1. Female lions weigh up to 180-200kg (a female lion from Phinda reserve weighed 211kg, but this was due to a fertility drug that causes the cat to put on more weight), females from certain regions range from 120-180kg, making female lions the largest female big cats. 2. You did well with the weight of lions, but there are types of lions that weigh up to 280-310kg in the wild (i know it sounds untrue 😅, but it has been documented, you can check wildfacts to confirm my claims), so the weight range of lions should be higher because African lions anf Bengal tigers are tied for largest wild cats but Bengal tigers would have the edge as they have more individuals reaching big weights than lions. 3. I think for future videos, it would be better to state Bengal tigers as the largest wild cats because they easily surpass Siberian tigers in the wild and can be as big as them in captivity. The largest tiger ever recorded was a Bengal tiger that weighed 389kg in the wild! The largest wild Siberian tiger as you right noted weighed about 660 pounds, it was stated to weigh about 250kg cleaned (meaning that wss the weight without the organs), so if the organs were included plus the stomach content, it would definitely be 660 pounds. Great video, you have a new subscriber😊!.
