I can't tell how great it felt to see asashi get over his internal issues and play at his VERY BEST

For me, at spring finals, in his performance, I can assume that Asahi could belong to Top 10 aces in high school

to me he was at least at bokuto's level there

@@dutra364 I definitely wouldn’t say that, Asahi is a damn good player but Bokuto’s arguably the second best hitter we see at nationals, only behind Sakusa.

"Today, for for once... I'm going to learn to trust in myself." These words were exactly what I needed to read at the exact time I needed to read them. All my life I've always tried to hold myself to one ideal more than any other: "Ask not for a lighter burden, but a stronger back." And I still believe this is a useful mentality; life will continously put challenges in front of you and won't take pity on you with their difficulty, accepting that and rising to those challenges is definitely something I take pride in. That being said, growing up I was taught to burden MYSELF. "Why can't you do something so simple" "I always let everyone down" "I just can't live up to those expectations." To me the solution was buckle down and work harder; if I'm not strong enough, become stronger. Never let my mistakes get past me, face myself and never give myself a break: I don't deserve it until I improve. And as a result, I almost died. I gave up; I'd been putting burdens and expectations on my own shoulders nobody could handle, even those I admired most. Life is always going to put burdens on your shoulders... you don't have the luxury of adding your own. Cut those shackles loose, relax your shoulders and take a deep breath... and you'll finally see what you're really capable of. In short... learn to trust in yourself, you're stronger than you think.

That Kamomedai match shows Asahi's potential beyond high school volleyball. He is a legitimate Ace in a National-level HS team. He could play pro if he wanted to and who knows, playing with Oikawa in Argentina?

I think the beauty of Haikyuu is that even if he COULD, it shows that he doesn't have to for his years at Karasuno to have value. Despite being the incredible player he is, Asahi is still afraid of moving to Tokyo after school, because sometimes everyday decisions can be scarier than the strongest opponent on the court. Asahi as a person learned to trust himself, to believe that maybe he won't let people down and can actually be the person he wants to be. That will have value throughout his entire life, not just Volleyball, so while he could be a professional athlete leaving record after record... no offense, but that's not the point. Asahi can be who he wants to be, and he didn't believe that before the series started. That's the point, to me at least. It's the personal growth, not the progression as a player.

Asahi went on being blocked all match by date tech to completely outclassing a team with national level blockers damn
