No one person has it all or can be everything. My husband is not a big burly strong guy out there hunting. He's a smaller-built guy but he still goes to work unfailingly every single day. We are middle-aged now and he has a very physical job. He comes home with burns and cuts and an aching back and stiff knees and does not complain. He's conscientious and reliable to do what he needs to do every day. He is loyal and completely beyond reproach when it comes to respecting women. He is kind and gentle with me always but still, he leads. I love him completely and pray for his conversion every day. He was raised to be anti-faith. Luckily his heart is not quite so hardened as that. He is fine with other people having their faith but he has a lack of belief himself. It was never introduced to him. Myself, I'm converting from the progressive Protestantism that I was brought up in. So at the time I was married, I did not look for someone of similar faith. But I do love my husband dearly and would never trade him. I will continue to pray for him. I am not a woman who has it all or can be everything, but I can do that.

God made man and women to be complementary to each other, and he gave them both good traits, which echo God's own goodness. There are corruptions of these traits of course. For men, leading can become controlling, confidence turns into pride, and steadfastness turns into temper.

Haha love the part about an African Pope. He is right. Every priest I have seen ffroom there have been wonderful men of God and to me for some reason have a strong presence around them. But they are also the good natured smiling ones too. Also as far as the suits I agree. I love to see men wearing suits. Ladies dressing nice as well. I haven't joined the church yet. In protostant churches it has gotten to the point where they don't care. They will wear no shoes. Cut off shorts. Tank tops, yoy name it to church. When I first started watching online masses I was excited. I said here are people who will respect the reverence of the church. I was sad to see all the jeans and hoodies. Or even leggings for the girls. I believe we are better than that. We should have more respect for ourselves and our Lord than that. After all we would get dressed up to go see a king or queen. How much more the the highest of all?

I have a question; does this need for masculinity in the church also pertain to individuals within it? As in men who don’t overtly display behaviors or characteristics seen as masculine, are those individuals inherently flawed or otherwise detrimental? As in, say a boy grew up with only sisters so he never really knew how to interact with other boys without being bullied, or grew up in a setting where he would associate masculinity with aggression and abuse? Is that individual mistaken for not acting in ways deemed more manly? I only ask this out if the sincerest curiosity. I do understand much of what was said; at least I believe I do. On the individual, men are in a social deprivation of our best selves. All of this said, none of it probably matters does it? I apologize for this admittedly unstructured question; likely product of my own strong inclination to satiate curiosity. I just felt a need to ask it where it could possibly be answered.

I had always seen Catholicism as being more feminine. I was pretty hardcore atheist until a few months back. Suddenly I find myself attending Mass. But I'm still a bit confused, and maybe I'm wrong, that there's no warrior or masculine wing of the religion. I'd love to be wrong.
