The reasons why Hansi Flick's contract is just for 1 year with one option year: 1. Its a stop gap otpion and that means the Barca management will not invest heavily on any new signings. Maybe a couple of free players but overall the Board espects Flick to work with whatever players he has at his disposal right now and 2. Secondly, when in 2025 when the Barca Presidential elections are close, Laporta will run a campaign & will ask for our votes on the pretext of bringing Pep or Klopp as Barca's new manager. He will again try to win the election by giving false hopes. Thats his plan all along and thats why Flick is given a short contract.

While not ideal, if for Araujo one can get Kimmich plus Sane it is a good deal for current Barca. The central defence is already packed with Counde, Cubarsi, Inigo, Christiansen. Mikayil Faye is also of very similar profile albeit 2-3 years behind Araujo's development. With Kimmich coming it possible to sell Frenkie, and use the fund for NIco Williams. Sane, Raphinha, Nico and Yamal fighting for 2 wide positions will be great for the team. 3 of them also can play from both wings.

I disagree with you on the 1+1 year contract duration. I think it's a right decision considering we may see Pep, Nagelsmann, Klopp, (maybe even Arteta) available in 2025. If Flick does well, we can continue too. In the case things dont go as planned, we go for Laporta's first choices mentioned above without having to pay any fee to Flick. I think it's harsh on Flick but might prove to be fruitful in the long run.

It's good that Laporta only handed one year contract to Flick with an option to extended it for one more year. If Flick does well then we can extend it, if he doesn't then we can go for top coaches like Klopp, Arteta and even Pep whose contract expires in 2025.

What Laporta wants to do is paint a false image that Barca has no problema on and off the pitch, that our team is at par to that of Real Madrid or City..but the reality is far off and that's what Xavi told us..he gave us the actual picture and for that Laporta and Deco humiliated him. Yes, as a legend, he deserved a more respectful departure, but as a Barça coach, you simply CANNOT publicly express disbelief in the team. Yes, it is true that Barça is in a difficult position, but how are you motivating your players? It's the same mentality that Koeman had. It also harkens back to Ernesto Valverde's "It is what it is" remark. This a loser's mentality. If this is what your own coach believes, you've already lost mentally. Laporta isn't a saint, but he was absolutely right to fire Xavi when he did. If you don't believe in your team, you don't deserve to be the head coach of FC Barcelona. Period.
