I feel like Cillian Murphy falls into this category, he is so fantastic. I also love Matthew mcconaughey in everything he does, Coop in interstellar was delivered so perfectly. I have never related to a protagonist more, considering we have nothing in common!

I remember seeing Banshees and he’s barely in it but that scene by the lake was like a silent bomb going off. It was proper uncomfortable to watch and it was laid out there naked. I was grimacing and it was just a monologue. He blew everyone else out including Brendan Gleason who was amazing in it. Even in something as bad as Eternals he put something completely different and I fully believed there was a whole person there and it was just in a completely different universe to Banshees. So yes think you’re absolutely right, even though he is not an actor I necessarily would say is a favourite.

Why do people think Eternals was so bad? It certainly wasn't the best film I've ever seen, but it wasn't horrifyingly terrible like so many people are making it out to have been.

Ever since I first saw Barry in “The Killing of a Sacred Deer”, I was captivated. I. Found myself haunted by his performance. I had to see it several times. “Saltburn” is one of my favorite films on 2023 largely because of his performance.

There's a very small channel " John Ninnis ", he makes clips for unknown bands, does walks in Cardiff, just made " Pedestals ", a wonderful video, he made some wonderful short movies in the past, i feel there is a same sensitivity... greetings.

this is only my opinion: Murphy has been popular for many years, well before Peaky Blinders, Tom Hardy is now 45 + and he has sold out to Hollywood, for a big pay check, we don't see much of the talent he once showed us in his early performances, most of which I adored. He does do a few granted but I think much of that talent is now dispersed - Cilian is a true talent and awesome to watch but he has never had that Brando kind of excitement, like 'what would he have done with the Joker' this is what separates Barry from them. He has removed the safety net and he hasn't found his rhythm yet, that makes him exciting. Cillian Murphy has to be near 50 now. So the days are behind him. scheduling conflicts for Gladiator, he ultimately decides to work with Andrea Arnold's new film "Bird" (Andrea being one of his favourite directors) and for Dune, I believe he wasn't even auditioning for it but a lot of people wanted him in it.@@Vortexfilmclub
