the dementia analogy got torn apart by Simon's reintroduction tho thats the thing if Simon never returned fully coherent, we can all accept him as Ice King but the Betty episode reveals that the changes can be reversible and more importantly, Simon explicitly does not want to be Ice King anymore it kinda sharply delineates the Ice King and Simon identities bc they could have shown that a magicless Ice King would just be a magicless Ice King, not Simon, and we can see that the transformation is permanent but by introducing a reverse to the situation, it undercuts the whole message of accepting the past especially when in his one moment of lucidity, simon was welcoming death it made betty's journey to acceptance actually hard to champion when the person she's trying to save wouldve opted to peacefully die rather than stay as Ice King and he only hung on out of love for her - to Let Her Try When Simon is the one that more or less permitted Betty to try and save him, then it's like "isn't Betty's goals what they both wanted? how am i, the audience, supposed to root for Betty's acceptance when Simon himself didnt want it? or even beyond that, when we have seen the effects reversed once, why cant we reverse again?" i think adventure time would have served the dementia allegory better by never returning Simon again and he's only a memory but they threw that out the back door

I don’t think it’s really rude of her, it’s what most would do after a while. Imagine being in a reality where your partner is going insane with ice powers and then a portal opens to show your partner sane and talking fine to you. That’s why she jumped through the portal because she wanted to be with the real Simon, not the one afflicted by the crown. Plus it’s not just that his mind had gone. I know Ice king got a lot of redemption but he went from a kind and gentle man to an impulsive and violent ice wizard. No one should be expected to stay with someone like that. It’s not as simple as someone having dementia lol he literally went insane and became capable of harming and kidnapping people on the daily. That’s a big difference from the Simon she knew and if this was reality, most would tell Betty that she wasn’t responsible for fixing ice king

the only problem is simon dies without crown's magic. but then again how good at ancient artifact knowledge is normal betty compared to simon? because if there is naything simon excels at from our normal human times to even the craziness of ooo, it is ancient artifact knowledge. simon the comletely normal and powerless against forces of nature human could summon golb which i am sure not something anyone knows how. too bad he never got an identity around ''using'' ancient knowledge only as an archelogist finding and learning them. and now the only use is for this incredibly dangerous thing. also classic adventure time shenanigans. another simon thing simon can do, he goes to wishmaster prismo. and well if only betty did it right? that makes me question if she was as good about this stuff as simon.

@Anemo Pixie Just my theory. Dead in a physical sense. But still exist as a part of Golb.. Golb is basically chaos in physical form. No real conscious or self awareness. Just does what it does on auto pilot and instinct like a baby. Normally anything consumed by GOLB. Is wiped from existence. But thanks to the wish crown? Betty instead became a part of Golb. That's why I think Golb freaked out like that. Thanks to Betty. It developed a consciousness and became self aware. And made a choice due to Betty's influence. To not cause harm to Simon's world, and leave in peace.

And now exists as a part of Steven. But again. Just my theory. Not stating facts.

jack and@@paxw37, one thing i find very interesting is encihidrion. we know it is very powerful but without further knowledge it makes sense to put it below beings like prismo and golb. İt is jsut a sapient book with magical powers after all. however when it comes to knowledge, enchidirion might be the most knowledgable ever and we know omnisicence caharacters coudl techinally alter events to their desires. i don't like the lore of star vs the forces of evil much but to give an example glossryck is almost all knowing therefore despite being the strongest thing in existance he prefers to change the pace of events by small acts. so with such a great ability to predict things and also some power on top of that even if it is not the most powerful, encihidrion could very well be the strongest character in the series, and if not he still has the power to decide how history turns out. And a great feat: encihidrion is the reason eventual natural death of the multiverse into nothing is delayed. he gives the original writer of the book a choice each time the multiverse nears its end. it decides to do this although it doesn't decide and gets author to do so. it knows about the end and also has the power to go there as it wishes with the original author. it is crazy. Also i read it and i don't know if i can find the pdf again to read but i think this whole cosmic imaignation term exists due to fans thinking ''if magic is just what you think the reality is, then collective imagination is the magic'' or sometihng like that and named it cosmic imaignation. Is that the case? or has some source actually dropped the name of this concept? has sometihng explained this stuff and said ''and the name of it is cosmic imagination'' ?

I'd say Marceline is most certainly fully able to turn people into Vampires, but isn't mentally, morally, and/or emotionally capable. But some of her powers, mainly regeneration, are demonstratedly weaker. *Probably* because she does not drink blood, which is a common "Vampire can boost their power doing this" ability... and maybe she doesn't really train.
