The Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Black Stars of Ghana will aim to make it to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico when the qualifiers begin in November later this year. Nine groups of six have been drawn, while for the first time the continent will be represented by at least nine countries. Both Nigeria and Ghana will fancy their chances of finishing first in theire respective group.

@@Ghanaba23 I will, but teacher; isn’t it wise that you take your own advice as well? I heard the power situation in Ghana is not too good at the moment….and there’s little chance of clear vision when even the stars that shed some light are curiously “black”. Tough one buddy, but hang in there.

Mr. Femi Ashaolu you finally found your voice and back on the air!. I know you avoided airing this programme because of your careless statements declaring Ghana winners of AFCON U23 before even the start of the competition and with no knowledge of the strength of other teams. I hope you have learnt from this and stop making those careless statements.

So, it’s easy to imagine that Nigeria qualifies in the end. I don’t think it will come easy; nor should it anyway. I also believe that the team qualifying from group C will not make it solely because they beat the second placed team. This implies that both teams will run along with maximum points until they clash in a home and away tie. Nigeria has a lot going for them. However, if the news about those other teams using South Africa as a host ground is true, then you can imagine actual South Africans going to support these teams when they play the super eagles over there; which would make sense. I think South Africa and Nigeria will not pick up maximum points against the other 4 teams. Nigeria probably has a better chance of picking maximum points if that happens. What will give Nigeria the ticket in the end, is probably the lower teams taking a point or two here and there from South Africa as they tour through the group games. Either way, 10 games is a league; you will have enough time to either distance yourself from the competition or play catch-up. In the end, it’s very normal that at least one top seeded team lucks out.
