Blocking and going no contact is so extremely important. Doing so gave me so much power and I can freely answer my phone, check text messages and emails without the narc ex knowing how to contact me. I changed my number, blocked email and I'm not on social media. We live in separate towns, so I never have to worry about the manipulator stalking me or just showing up. Oh, did I mention that I have a new job and the narc doesn't know where I work? Some people may think it's extreme, but I have all the room and a safe space to heal. No yo-yoing or going back and forth. Thank God I had nothing connecting myself to him )no kids, house, bills, pets, etc.)!

I’m just gonna say this, when I blocked my narc ex of 7 years I IMMEDIATELY felt better. Blocking them is you taking your power back. I’ll say it’s like this, when you don’t block them you are constantly waiting for them to reach out to you because you loved them and want that love reciprocated. When you block them you remove the guess work. Now you’re not being talked to because it’s done on your terms.

Exactly that Andrew, once again you hit the right spot. Narcissists don't care what you want or need, they come around to suck and play the eternal game. So if you don't report anything about your life they lose all weapons to play and you win. And the best victory is being away from them. The Day my Daughter told me she wants to see me consistently Happy and that she is 36 years old it's not my job to protect her from the man she calls Dad. And that she is completely ok if he walks out of her life completely.

One thing I've found with the no contact is that the narcissist thinks that you're playing a game with them. They can still be lurking around years and years later waiting for you to drop your guard. Everything is a game to them & you can't win because they make up the rules as they go along.

I am a big supporter of blocking and no contact, even if it was about family. We don't have many other options left if we want to have our inner peace. An excellent reminder from you for those who are still thinking. You said it all .

Good video Andrew. Well after being discarded, I went no contact I also changed jobs and moved . I was really in a bad place after the discard I was lost and really hurt. I know that the narcissist never loved me and I know that it was all a lie. But going no contact was the hardest thing I've ever had to do . So I've been no contact going on 9 months and it hasn't been easy . I avoid looking at his social media and I really get tempted sometimes, but it will only hurt me more. My narcissist just recontact me for christmas... He wants to recontact! I blocked him, then he went on telegram, I blocked him as well on telegram... I will never talk to him ever again!!! He said to everyone that I was a narcissist, that I broke him, ... and now h's recontacting me, that is so funny! If someone destroyed me I would never reach to that person again... I'm finally able to block, and to say NO. I am going no contact and gray rock in every area that I can. It hasn't been easy, but it is getting easier to do. I do not like playing games with people...there's too much drama involved. I am putting myself first, and trying to be more positive about everything I think and do. It's 5:24 p.m. here in Missouri and the curtain has come down upon this rural town. All is quiet, except for the occasional auro upon the main highways and nearby street. My son has arrived and I am having a nice meal with him. Peaceful night.

I am a young person and I've gone permanent lifelong NC with an ex narc who was also a friend. Now he shall never be my friend for all my life. I'm satisfied.

I deleted my social media after I finally left him. And blocking and NC ever since. It was hard at first. I unblocked to see if he unblocked me... which he never did. It takes time. If you share children with the narcissist no contact is not possible. Limited contact and grey rock is though, and it is essential to preserve your sanity.

Best thing I’ve ever done block , delete removed from Facebook this is not easy I was ready for new change’s. I had to be 3 steps ahead in the divorce 5 years in court he dragged it out

Well said Andrew. I didn't know what narcissism was two years ago when I made my escape. I was wracked with guilt when I blocked him on everything. It was incredibly difficult to do, especially as I didn't know it was a "thing" that should be done with narcs. Now, after getting educated on it, I know I did the right thing. He was so malignant that he could twist everything and leave me doubting my own sanity. Blocking and no contact is the best route to healing. Don't let the demon in anywhere in your life, including through so-called mutual friends (flying monkeys).

You’re right on the money. I was living in a different state than my ex but had to return home due to financial issues. I was staying with my dad who unfortunately passed away two weeks after I arrived home. My narcissist ex didn’t attend the funeral but she started offering to help with a few things. I foolishly accepted the aid. She then stated that her mom kicked her out and she needed a place to stay. I said she could stay with me and she went out and bought a bed and settled in. She bought some materials to fix up the room she wanted us to stay in, my fathers room, and helped clean it for a couple hours. She then went to work and insisted I finish repainting, fixing things, etc. There were about two good days despite there being no intimacy between us. Then she started tearing me down. The house was horrible, my father an idiot, my step mom atrocious, she hated the room we were staying in, and even my dog. The pettiness of how she picked a strand of dog hair from her clothing and proclaimed it was ruining her life was shocking, even though I knew what to expect. Watching your videos and a few others, I learned what to look for and every minute with her after the initial shock wore off became anxiety filled and generally upset me. I called her out for wanting me to get arid of my dog, the same dog that would sleep on my legs at night to keep me warm. The dog that kept my father warm for four years after his gf had passed and left her dog to him. I felt more joy playing with the dog and taking care of her than I did being with the narcissist ex. The final straw was a series of things she said that I knew were an attempt to stir jealousy and control me emotionally, followed by her asking me for gas money for her driving me to the blood bank because trying to raise funds to pay for probate. I spent seven hours helping her doordash and didn’t ask for anything but she still demanded the 20$ of my blood money. I told her I’ll give it to her but not to ask me for anything else ever again. She dropped me at home after I paid the 20$. She then came back to sleep that night and I preemptively moved my stuff back to my original room. Haven’t heard or seen her since but her stuff is still here. I have other friends who’ve helped me since I got home and they don’t ask for anything in return. It’s not about what they can get from me but what they can do to ease my burden. Yea she brought food into the house and a bed, but that was for her benefit as well. Nothing with a narcissist comes without strings attached. It’s appalling that I offered her a free room and she wanted my blood money. Like her needs were beyond my own and mine not worth her time without compensation. I’ll let her get her things but am so incredibly done with the stress of this person it sickens me.

Once you block and go no contact, your self worth starts to restore and you look back and say, hey what the hell was I doing with such a selfish person in the first place and you are never the same to be a fool again. It really is a blessing to completely cut them out.

Thanks for the reminder Andrew. I was in a 9 year relationship with a narcissist. When the end came, it was so difficult to get rid of him but he did eventually leave after a restraining order and realizing he wasn’t going to get anything else out of me. In the end it was like the Titanic sinking and I was fighting for my life. Five years later I was in a two year relationship with the father of my one and only child. I didn’t know what narcissism was but I saw all the red flags of the previous relationship and got out quick(2 years). He would constantly accuse me of cheating on him, check my phone, question everything I did, he was always devaluing me. He had rage fits, sometimes I wondered if I could get out alive. Walking on eggshells all the time, wondering when I would be accused of something terrible again. I had a child and 12 months later, I finally jumped in my truck with the baby, no shoes, no purse, no nothing. It was the only way to leave without tipping him off. He was right behind me before I could make it to the highway and chased me for miles. My sister put me up in a hotel for days so he couldn’t find me. Anyway, long story short, that was 15 years ago and the only way to deal with him was grey rock. It works, they want to argue and get information. So, after all these years, he can’t break through my grey rock technique. It is powerful and then they will look elsewhere for supply. Sorry for rambling 😊

I’ve posted this on another narc site. Yesterday at 3pm in the afternoon my narc showed up on my doorstep after three years. Three years no contact, totally blocked, on social media, by telephone, no mutual friends and I stopped shopping in places she uses. This was my ex friend who sucked the life out of me. She bullied me, put me down, she borrowed money never repaid. She used to call me four to twenty times a day. If I didn’t answer a text message she would show up at the house. She was always on the borrow, money for gas, cigarettes, a bull she was in trouble with, groceries. Her kids ate at my house at least four times a week. She bled me for literally thousands and I was on welfare. Yesterday she showed up on the RING doorbell system. My daughter answered her. And told her I didn’t want to speak to her. He bust out laughing like it was a joke. And she walked away. This is THREE YEARS. Why did she choose this time? I was thinking it was maybe money, because she knows my family usually give me a cheque at Christmas instead of a gift. So maybe she wanted some of that?

Went no contact with my narc mother 11 weeks ago. No more giving her my time, energy, empathy, resources, etc. just so she can shame and devalue me whenever she feels like it. I’m in my late fifties and want to live the rest of my life free and clear of her toxic bs. ❤

Using grey rock method and going no contact is about self defense. I've see so many times on the internet people struggling with the idea of forgiveness. It's not about forgiveness. This is about self defense. If you walk into a coffee shop and you see the barista spit in your coffee you can forgive them, but out of self defense you're not going back there again. In the same way you must deal with the narcissist if you want to protect yourself. I know sometimes it's lonely, but it's better to be lonely and have peace than be in the company of a narcissist and not have peace.

When I blocked my ex narc hubby because of children's visitations I let it all go and passed the communication to the teenage children. I let control go. Had to be that way for the children. No arguments. I turned from him energetically. 🕊🕊🕊💫♥️

Blocking and going no contact with a narc parent is horrible. You automatically become the ‘bad daughter’. Nobody will support or understand that choice, particularly other family members or friends who never experienced abuse. It is a tough decision to make. Many advise to reconnect and forget or forgive. Anyway I made up my mind and I am protecting myself and my daughter. I can’t stop my healing process and go back to toxic relationships. This was the HARDEST part for me, but I just had to DO it and NOT look back . Once I unfollowed/ blocked everyone I could find that was associated with them it was like an insurance policy that if I DID change my mind, there was no turning back. That worked for me, because THEN I had NO CHOICE BUT to move forward. It sped up the healing process TREMENDOUSLY! It’s kinda funny, because I heard you say to do this, Andrew, and I knew it was the best thing to do, but if anyone in my FAMILY had told me to do it, I probably WOULDN’T have. It was probably because by then I had heard your story and KNEW you were coming from a place of not wanting ANYONE to go through what YOU went through. And seeing the emotional pain you were going through, I knew you knew what you were talking about. You were just the right person to deliver the message in a way that I could relate to, and for that I am VERY grateful! I have another situation tho where I moved into a house and the landlady is super toxic. An energy vampire and very into conflict. Am looking for a new place to go to and she is on holiday so away for a week. I am so relieved. This situation is where grey rock may work. She doesn't do boundaries tho and doesn't respect my own when I set them up. Time to leave ASAP.
