It amazes me that people think that not drinking is some kind of sacrifice or that life wouldn’t be worth living without alcohol. I have never in my 54 years seen anything good that comes from drinking alcohol but I have seen it cause a lot of heartache, misery and death. I thank God that I have no desire to touch that mess.
@vince8990Ай бұрын
It is a sacrifice in that it is addictive and you are being disciplined enough to avoid it. Alcohol is abused quite often and instigates a lot of problems. But having a couple lagers with dinner ain't gonna kill anyone.. and is quite enjoyable.. just most people can't keep it at that level

I had the same goal as I felt that one bad practice could cost you a title. Wrestling always comes down to one point and that one point could've been earned in the off season with a sober mind visualizing or training harder than your opponent. I don't regret being sober nor do I know anyone that does, but I do know people that regret drinking too much.

This is some incredible mental strength here. Not drinking at all takes away so much social inclusion and so many social opportunities - but if you're really trying to be the absolute best in the world whether its mathlete or sprinter or whatever, the best in the world not just a top competitor, that's likely what you have to do.
