You could totally make the rings if you used something flexible like rope. Paracord would be a really solid choice as it comes in lots of colours, is a decent thickness, and seals to itself when melted slightly with a lighter.

Couldn’t you 3d print these at an upward angle so they all come out as perfect circles?
@joshs55772 ай бұрын
No. To understand why first look at the blue ring and notice how it’s completely on top of the orange one. In real life this is easy just two rings on top of each other. But then look at the green ring. It would have to go over the blue ring but under the orange ring. In addition order to do this you would need to deform the rings in some way to allow that to happen which is why it can’t be done with perfect rings
@tobiasmis61572 ай бұрын
You could it would just be difficult as you would have to figure out the correct angles and geometries. Videos like this usually don't take additive or even subtractive manufacturing into account. I've seen a EDM machined set of these

Just look at the 2d image in the video and think this: for any one ring to be rigid and follow it's path, it would have to go up and down through the segments of the other two rings. So it's 3d shape either is not round circles at all, or its a 2d illusion and an impossible shape as the video suggests.
