I don't think its so much they took their time as much as they did nothing. The Bulls had been rebuilding for years when AK and Marc took over and put them in "win now" mode. So a "full rebuild" was not something they were going to do after a season and a half of questionable results. The problem was they did nothing at all. They treated the team like it was proven and winning already. Ignored its shortcomings and needs, made NO adjustments. They used its flaws as a reason to stick with it rather than fix it. They were not bold, no risks taken, nothing gained. Betting on "continuity." Which is a "four letter word" to most Bulls fans now. They overplayed their hand and just kept betting on it. I think NOW was the only time a "full rebuild" could have happened. But they could have made bold moves to restructure and re-tool the roster and coaching along the way. But they did absolutely NOTHING for THREE years after going into "win now" mode. Even as far in as this past trade deadline. "Continuity" morphed into "competitive." Trying to make the playoffs on a wing and a prayer like we'd been the GSW's all these years instead of the Chicago Bulls. It was a joke, and not a funny one.

I think the bulls roster has improved from last year even whilst getting younger. You got a starting 5 of giddey/white/Lavine/Williams/Vucevic.

I never heard "multiple first round picks for Alex Caruso" at last mid-season deadline. I don't know where people are getting this from. I heard that the Bulls wanted 3 FRPs for him, and even Bulls fans thought that was rich. They thought the move, to prompt action, was to dangle him for two firsts, in hopes that they'd get a pick and a player. That's it. Now, all of a sudden, Bulls Nation has its hand on it, thinking we can dictate the values of Alex Caruso or Zach Lavine to the league. Even if they could have gotten a player and a pick, who's the player and how high is the pick that this players old team has? OKC finished at the top of the regular-season West. Their FIRST rounders will be in the late 20s, and we're crying about a 2nd?

They waited until now first a rebuild because it was only after seeing Cooper Flagg that they realized, We FRAKED up.

Well the next two drafts should have pretty good classes. Especially the top. Not Wemby top but still very good. It's a good time to do so. They need to trade Zach and their center

Poor Bulls chose a terrible time to attempt to rebuild😢. Wendy and Chet are elvolving fast, and will dominate for a decade within 2 or 3 years.
