Then again, if I was Vader, I would rather die than live as a "slave" with pain. I think he chose to live and not take the chance to upgrade his suit because of his son and daughter, Luke and Leia. He wanted to reunite with the only family he had (his and Padme's children).

I don't think RotS Anakin is anywhere near powerful enough to overthrow Sidious and would've lost badly if he tried. Maybe if he never got injured then he would've eventually surpassed Palpatine, but certainly not in his early 20s.

Yeah there's no way a young early in his 20's Anakin would be able to overthrow Palpatine. He would have to become more seasoned in his abilities as well as the dark side to do that accomplishment. But yes eventually he would overthrow Palpatine.

I don't know... the way Palpatine designed it made him unable to use all of his power and reach his full potential, made the suit susceptible to force lighting, he did all this to protect himself from Vader, he never wanted to be surpassed and knew he would if Vader could reach his limit. If the new suit was better and allowed him to push his powers more, then I'd say get the new suit. The anger and pain emotionally is still and will always ve there, he's got a lot more hate and anger than just about his mother and wife/kid. A new less physically painful suit wouldn't diminish that mental pain, so with a less painful suit, better physical movement making him more confident in his ablities, and being able to use more of his power he'd be a lot more of a threat to sidious's thrown. I think he just doesn't trust sidious enough to get a new suit, he may think something is even more worse about this new suit. I don't think he would die during surgery, maybe he would but I think he could keep himself alive with the force... he may also believe he deserves the physical pain to match his emotional pain... whether the physical pain increases his connection to the dark side and be worth more than all the positives from a new suit, I don't know but I'd think being in less physical pain would diminish his connection to the dark side since he's still emotionally is the same dark place new suit or not. The biggest benefit, if the story with Luke went the same way ad Canon, the force lightning wouldn't of fucked up his breathing and he'd most likely live from being lit it by sidious.. makes you wonder what his and lukes life would of been like after Anakins return to the light

And realizing that Palpatine had deluded him into gjving himself to the Dark Side for nothing. Padme still died and now he was a slave to his evil master. It was too late to turn back and undo the mistakes he had made.

Also spending like 30 years of constant agony in the old suit would in of itself be so traumatic I don't think the memory of that physical pain would leave him anytime soon either.

Yes, sometimes Vader would let the emotions take over and it became too much so he would mute his suit mic and have a good cry. He didn't do this often, as the salt from the tears would burn his wounds. After crying for a while he would remove his mask and use the tears for his plants as he was also a known horticulturist

I think the reason why he didn't want the suit, which makes sense is it didn't give them as much pain which actually be a good idea to make a pain suit, and there was also a sentimental value to to it. So I can understand the decision.

After all the years of barbaric and evil acts that Anakin perpetrated as Vader, I don't think there would have been anywhere safe, even in the unknown regions, that Luke and his father would have been safe from pursuit. Retraining a new Jedi order would have been nigh impossible. But that's just me.

Palpatine didn't take sentiment or pain into account of his suit, if he did it would have been the difference to put them in the new suit.

You also forgot to mention what it did to him from a martial stand point. With every portion of himself becoming more physically weakened due too the loss of many finer motor skill it forced him to develop technique and skill to accommodate. An example to give would be his movements they presented in the video. As Vader he was forced to think plan and move 8 steps ahead of everyone and also know what someone was going to do merely from the little information AND before they actually did something in order to accommodate his body performing actions on delay.

I would say losing his mother and Padme because of not saving them are what drew him to the dark side. Palpatine was exploting Anakin's suffering from his mother's passing to his advantage.

Exactly what I was thinking. Palpatine was a psychopathic sadist Sith so of course he'd want Anakin to suffer in the Vader suit. I mean it makes sense as Anakin's whole purpose of turning to The Dark Side was to keep his loved ones and himself alive which is how he survived Mustafar's lava to become Darth Vader. I used to never understand why Anakin's fighting style had to differ from Vader's because Anakin Skywalker lost his limbs and partial connection to The Force after being weakened by Obi Wan's lightsaber attack cutting his remaining limbs and the lava bank on Mustafar burning him alive so it's not surprising he's slow because he's a cyborg now in a painful suit. I agree with most of what you said, but Vader was the most powerful character in my opinion, Anakin was reckless, arrogant and had little strategy which is why he was bested by Obi wan in an extremely fair fight

@@ghostofsparta36 in raw power - Anakin is the strongest - essentially infinite power as he was the living embodiment of the force. The key part of that word, of course, is body…and that was mostly destroyed in ROTS.

I really loved that George really transfered his abnormal meridian count to Vader so his connection to the force was still crazy strong. And the pain and hate made him push himself even while handicaped. So he may not reach that power he could have as a master Anakin if hed grow expirienced wise and fully im tune with his potential but pushed his own way where there were few who could best him. Even slow and static.

I can already imagine him pulling moves like how Fulgore fights in Killer Instinct. One particular move Fulgore has is his fast moving arm blade dash which he can follow up with a dragon punch

If you take star wars seriously I wouldn't compare old (even prequel) star wars to disney star wars. Disney gives a flying f*ck about canon, therefore at least I personally see Dinsey star wars as a (bad, partly extremely bad) fanfiction project.

I'd imagine it definitely would be quite a bit longer than a normal human considering the light side especially tends to extend lifespans and his chosen one status and raw strength would probably help quite a bit. I'd imagine the suit also would help, though not sure quite how much compared to him having the extra power he had pre-Mustafar. Kinda makes me wonder if perhaps Yoda's species lives for so long because their strong connection to the Force and natural affinity for the light side instead of necessarily a biological reason.

The suit was indeed weak, the emperor purposely used the most outdated and hindered cybernetics in the entire galaxy to put together vader in order to punish him for his loss to obi, he lagged so much with this new suit he had to relearn everything. But apart from that i agree he used the pain and suffering this horrible suit gave him to fuel his anger.

@@mozie9277 I meant the actually materials the suit was made out of. We even see in the OG Trilogy how powerful it is. Darth Vader kindly invites the rebels to dinner, and Han Solo shoots Vader… only for Darth Vader to raise his hand and block the blaster with his hand without any damage. I am aware that it is all outdated tech though. I should have been clear on that.

But ultimately it makes sense, Palpatine wanted to keep Vader in check and that shitty ass suit made him way weaker that Anakin's full potential, while still being an absolute machine against anyone else.
