Why David Rubenstein Wants to Buy the Orioles

David Rubenstein, Carlyle Group co-founder and co-chairman, and host of "Peer-to-Peer Conversations," talks about why he's leading a group of investors trying to buy a controlling stake in the Baltimore Orioles baseball team that values the franchise at $1.73 billion. Major League Baseball still needs to approve the deal. The investor group includes Michael Bloomberg, the founder and majority owner of Bloomberg News parent Bloomberg LP. Rubenstein speaks on "Bloomberg Surveillance."

I hope the Orioles front office doesn't change a bit. Same with funding the team, and stay away from the O's strings. I trust Elias, Medjal, Hyde, and others!

Baseball is the very soul and heart of America. It inspired America throughout her darkest and best moments. But MLB baseball have relied on its sheer cultural strength to sustain its sport while making zero changes and doing almost nothing to insert themselves into cultural relevance and mainstream culture esp among younger people. NFL has on the other has literally sacrificed all its tradition and rules to draw large crowds and cultural relevance

For the same reason he bought up all those nursing homes and stripped them of all their assets and left a bunch of old people rotting in their own feces. For the money! He got that team cheap.
