The idea to turn the game Clue into a movie was John Cleese's, of all people; he wrote a script/outline, & was going to play the butler character, but when director Jonathan Lynn was hired, Lynn & John Landis wrote a whole new script

Oh I’ve never seen it. Now I want to see it. Sadly not on any streaming services. Can rent it by some. (Around 5 euro) I like it that it has multiple endings. They need to do that more often. I see they have released 3 endings. But there is a possibility that they made 4. Maybe they release that one on the 40th or 50th anniversary 😅 Wonder what they do if I rent it. Will it always be the same ending or is it random? 🤔

If you rent it, you'll get all three endings played in a row, in a 'this could have happened', or 'that could also have happened' kind of way. Totally agree with you that they should definitely make more movies of this kind! For as far as I know, the fourth ending was shot but was scrapped because the director didn't think it was funny and/or surprising enough. If we're lucky, they might release (at least a part of) it with a 40th or 50th anniversary! That way, another lost media mystery will be solved, and the fans will have their questions answered!
