At the end of the 19th century, the world experienced massive migrations of people, especially from Europe to American countries such as the United States, Canada and Argentina. And although European migration to the northern part of the American continent is more recognized worldwide, the number of immigrants as a proportion of the total population was greater in Argentina than in the United States. It is estimated that by 1914, in Argentina, 30% of the population was foreign, while in the United States it was 14.5%.
Why did Europeans prefer to migrate to Argentina over dozens of other options around the world?
Why did some Argentines begin to have a negative image of immigrants?
At what point did Argentina stop being so attractive to Europeans?
