4:21 had me laughing so hard lmao. Love that you're able to joke about this trilogy and we can know that it's actually in good taste. A lot of the times when I see jokes like that it's meant as a dig and isn't funny. That though... had me in tears xD

I always saw it as the nature of his beliefs. Kylo Ren not only killed Snoke, but he also killed the entire mission behind the First Order. Initially, his speech in The Force Awakens revolved around overthrowing a government he despised to replace it with the ideals he followed. When Kylo in The Last Jedi says to Rey, "It's time to let old things die." Afterward, Kylo changes the name and uniforms to fit his new vision, so Hux's boiling anger surrounds a figure he despises and a cause he doesn't believe in.

It made enough sense to me. It's obvious from TFA that Hux hates Kylo Ren, and from TLJ that he seems aware that Kylo killed Snoke. In his mind he didn't betray the First Order, Kylo betrayed the First Order and he needs the Resistance to get rid of Kylo for him

Truly, love how much of a pathetic man Hux becomes over time. betraying the very order he dedicated his life to for pettyness, and then getting killed so coldly when he gets found out, That is the empire he fought for.

Hux is truly terrifying and pathetic at the same time, he devoted himself to rebuilding the empire with Snoke as the best hope but lost hope when both Kylo ren and Pryde had their own goals. Really it makes sense he wanted to whatever it takes to take Kylo Ren down for “ruining” the first order

I think the reason so many fans hated Hux betraying the First Order was because usually in SW universe a bad guy betraying the other bad guys goes hand in hand with their redemption (Darth Vader, agent Kallus, Kylo Ren) while here Hux did it purely because he was petty. And that's very much in character, as we see in epVII-VIII that he's incredibly short-sighted and stupid. Heck, Snoke even says that much in epVIII. So many fans just skipped over that for some reason. But I personally think that getting a betrayal without redemption was great.

Eeeh, I just sort of hate it because so much First Order lore isn't in the movies where it belongs and there are even a lot of gaps in the extended lore (comics, novels, etc). I mean they say he was demoted in some random book? Because that doesn't actually even happen on the ride. It just does not make sense for him at all looking at what we're given of the character, I look into him a lot and I never found that he was demoted...

@@pineappleunicorn7729 I mean the fact he was demoted isn't really that important to the narrative imo. It just adds additional context. I didn't know that, but as I described Hux's betrayal felt perfectly in character to me. As for the lack of lore in the movies, I feel like it's an unfair criticism. If we look at other SW trilogies (OG, prequels) we can see that much of the nuance and things that r required to understand the universe rn't present in the movies, but r instead in additional materials. We r thrown into both ep I and ep IV without any context at first. Star Wars's story is just too ambitious to fit into the movies. It's always been like that. The Final Order did require more set up though, but the First Order felt pretty understandable to me.

@@boardtoonsguy we know literally nothing about where the actual Supreme Leader came from… the First Order is set up terribly
