Traditional school system has never worked for me so I've been torn between being self-taught and enrolling in art school, always seemed that art school would be a must if I ever want to make it as an artist. So it's inspiring hearing how people take their own journey to pursuing what they love. Keep doing what you're doing! Wish you all the best on your journey!

I love the comment about practice vs talent. Everyone's on a spectrum of good-bad with everything they do, but if you do it every day you WILL get better. The same with sport or language or whatever you want to learn. My 5 cents. Love your work man, keep creating!

I feel like we have a lot of similar experiences. I’m so glad I found you. I’m an artist too, mostly pencil drawings, but have fell off over the last year because of really bad experiences in art school. I relate to you so much and your channel is hyping me so hard to get back into it!!!!! Also I went to Colorado state for three years (for not art but basically pre-vet) but now live in New Jersey, I went to William Paterson University for 1 year for fine arts and then dropped out hardcore haha. I too live with my mom, and I too once lived in Connecticut (Stamford)

I love contemporary street art. Something I have enjoyed recently is mixing new school cartoon style with elements of natute. Fish, leaves, trees. Throwing in parts of the body such as eyes or hands to intertwine with bold thick black lines and pops of color.

I've only just started learning to draw portraits 2 weeks ago and painting about 2 years ago ( I'm 31 y.o btw ), but I do believe that age is just a number and when you feel drawn towards your passion, you should always follow that. I go to an art university here in Florida as a fine arts major. Every studio class I have is constant studio work and completely project based! I’m so sorry to hear your experience was different from that. Learn by doing! I spend hours and hours drawing and painting every semester for my classes and I LOVE it. Yes it’s expensive, but I feel like I learn SO much from my instructors and I have gotten so much practice and learned so much. Sorry for the novel, just wanted to share my experience! I absolutely love your channel
