@rop Not “probably”, “way better than MOST” I reckon. Which reminds me, your British mate (I think he is), our weatherman Danny-Boy on 1, needs you, bro. Not sure who is helping him, but I think the Maori advisers at TVNZ have ignored him and he has slipped into our pre-couldn’t-care-less-about-correct-Maori -pronunciation era after what I thought he was really trying. Now, he seems to be at-home and comfortable saying “WaiPUnaamu” and “KaiKUra” to name just two I cringe at nearly every night. You mentioned Kaikoura in your video. Sweet music to my near 80 year old taringa. Thank you! Arohanui. ❤ Happened upon your video today and have just subscribed. Ngā mihi nui.

Hi Curls another great video very interesting learning more about you I agree that Wellington is awesome and underated I have lived in Christchurch and palmy but always end up back in Welly ❤️ also love the hawkes bay I think the kiwi ladies have taken a bit of a shine to you 👍 probably because you're entertaining funny nice to look at and so respectful when you talk about our country. Don't worry to much about the comments from people who can't handle an honest opinion on what you don't like about NZ just be yourself. I have learnt not to eat or drink while watching you as I was drinking a coffee and choked on it when you said do kiwis love KFC because all the moa's are gone so funny 😂 get someone to explain that to you. Lastly open the donation button we will get you that expensive microphone for you am I right kiwis? We are very generous might help you get around the country too. Thanks have a great weekend.

To be fair, Wellington is the best city in NZ, great culture, great food, the architecture and atmosphere is amazing, and the scenery is awesome! The weather is absolutely the extreme on both ends, but it's still not bad. BTW, If you haven't found it yet, there is an English shop called UK Goodies out in Petone, you may find your chocolate and pork pies there. You know the Whittaker's factory is in Porirua, right?

Black water rafting in Waitomo ROCKS. Also the caves in Charleston (West Coast) is way less touristy and awesome fun. Doing the Mail boat run in the sounds is also a very cool day. Wedges with Whipped Avocado and lime. State Highway 2 - From Wellington up the east coast. Rent a car in the south island and go from the top of the (Karamea) west coast to the bottom (Via the caves at Charleston) and over the hill for an east coast experience. Some of us throw big mid winter Christmas parties - take a couple of days off and party hard.

I feel Auckland is a great place for a holiday, not sure if i would want to live there though. That step diving place on Wellington wharf has a big sign saying not safe to dive, your health can be in jeopardy jumping into the icky water, have you seen how gross it looks? Sure is fun watching others dive/jump into it, even my younger boys jump into it with my disapproval.

Going back for visit to havelock north for sister wedding in about 1.5 years going to try go for 1 or 2 weeks holiday this time around the wedding time. you should revisit the Marlborough sounds in spring if you did not the first time as the waterfalls are full on and spectacular at that time of year. Also visit Napier during mid February for the Art Deco weekend, lots of great older cars and the people dressing up in Vintage cloths and other cool vibes stuff going on. Summer weather is normal great around February time too and visit the Aquarium one the best in NZ.

I've been here for 40 years after being born in Scotland, living in England - and then Sweden for 13 years when I was a kid - where I hated it, and hence went as far away as I could. The worst thing about Sweden (apart from there being NO Pubs): NO PIES!! So I hooked on to your short about the great kiwi pies like a dog on a bone as I am still a total pieface due to the forced Swedish abstinence and now even make my own. Scotch pies naturally and pork pies next...You remind me a lot of how I fell head over heels for NZ way back in -83 when I hitch hiked and walked from one end to the other. My other forced abstinence was Pubs so my travel philosophy was to never go past a Pub if I was walking. I would just have one beer and if no one talked to me I would leave. This hardly EVER happened! I met so many people and stayed with many of them for weeks because unbeknownst to me; NZ has the most Pubs per capita in the world! One time I even ended up on a boat and subsequently went to the Kingfish Lodge in Whangaroa Harbour - a pub you can only get to by sea. We had such a good time that by half way thru the night the drinks were on the house! Suffice to say NZ has been paradise to me. I had my own business on Waiheke Island (you have to go there) for 25 years and now I live up north. NZ really is set up for being self employed tax wise and - the word of mouth is incredible - as long as you do a good job. Welcome to NZ -See you up here when you make it.

NZ Cadbury was so good and then they moved it to Aussie and now it is crap! Sorry but it is. I grew up in Te Puru, their is a little school on the water front, our play ground was the beach it is just out from Thames and you pass it on the way to Coromandel, LOVE the coastline there, plus there is Hot water beach and the Cathedral Cove. If you haven't already been up there I would recommend it. Bay of Islands is fantastic and if you are going that far then you might as well go all the way to Cape Reigna, if you go on a slightly windy day you can usually see the two oceans colliding. You should be able to see the Spirit Tree also. I think you will love it!

As per usual, enjoyed your post. Gussy, you'll love it. If you get the opportunity to tour the Easr Cape while your there, you'll see some unbelievable sites. Tologa Bay, has the longest warfare. Mount Hikurangi, first place to see the sun. There's also a pie shop up the call K.F.C (kai for cuzzys) you need to try the paua pie. But hey, give's a shout if your in Palmy, plenty would enjoy a meet and great Lol Your becoming "World famous in New Zealand " Lol

Most New World supermarkets have a decent pork pie in the deli section. A bit expensive but a good substitute.

Hawke's Bay Farmers Market - Sundays at Hastings - is world-class, mouth-watering beautiful goodies underneath old Oak trees, everyone's proud as punch of their offerings tempting people to sample their goods (must-do in NZ). But Wellington, is the BEST city in NZ hands-down: compact, not crowded, stunning scenery, great food/coffee/bars/lively arts scene/inner-city beach Oriental Bay; unfortunately rent is off-the-charts.

Pork pies were at one time able to be got from foodtown supermarket in Manukau City however that was 30 years ago not sure where you'd get them now, They were quite large about palm size & quite thick around 3" high. They're quite weird & not great tho not bad either. Would prefer a homemade one i would think as the pastry was firm perhaps due to being refrigerated. Is it true Indian curry houses/takeaways are predominately Pakistani in the UK ?

Likes pies, bombed at Days Bay, had some spots, speaks Te Reo well. You're a Kiwi bro! 'O' in Māori always sounds like 'OR'. E in Māori always sounds like YEAH and never YAY. ALWAYS Te Reah Or NEVER Te Ray Oh. Absolutely love your videos and your humour is addictive. Chur bro.

From your list, the waitomo caves, as long as you do the full 2 hour journey, not the rubbish 30 minute tourist thing. The difference is huge.

Considering, some of the Pakeha ( white Kiwis)🤭, your Maori is very good so far, I guess another UK Kiwi lol. I am Wellington born I chose Napier HB as my family home for my babies and miss it so much and I guess living the rest of my days in the USA in Louisiana. Yes, you are correct, most Kiwis don't really appreciate their own Country, or I should really be speaking for myself, never really appreciated it until I left.
