I feel bad for the original cast especially David Yost. They clearly loved working on the show but bad pay and for Yost horrible treatment caused them to leave. I’m just glad that many of them came back for later stuff and especially that Yost and Jones got to reunite for the movie.

It’s such a shame how dirty the OG cast was done. They were bringing epic joy to millions across the globe, making billions for the brand, and yet they were so under appreciated in return. I wish they could have had justice back in the day, but I hope the fact that they’re legends to an entire generation helps those who are still with us hold memories of the time with fondness. RIP to Thuy and JDF 💛💚

We all wished the 6 could've forced Haims palm's with the strike. Then again with them being young and sticking around to ride this out, they were brand new to Hollywood. They weren't made men and women yet, so they may have thought, "if we leave now, things may not work out in the end". But I believe they were an instant sensation, and that wouldn't have been an issue.

Fun fact on 7:28, the whole Jetting concept was a whole new idea for MMPR, they were testing footage on how it would work, there’s supposedly a full fight with Goldar in the sky, it was an entire thing

Of course Tommy had only regained the Green Ranger powers temporarily upon his return. Tommy was initially supposed to be a temporary character, and they brought him back by popular demand because Tommy gained the largest popularity after his introduction. When he became the White Ranger, Jason was originally supposed to remain the leader, Jason was originally supposed to continue as the leader, but Austin St John was dismissed from the series over the salary dispute, and new dialogue was added for Zordon at the last minute by appointing Tommy as the new leader. That’s what I read on the internet movie database about the leadership turn over.

I always think about this when people talk about billionaires. This is exactly what they do, pay everyone the absolute minimum and take all of the profits. Haim became a BILLIONAIRE during this time while paying everyone minimum wage and firing them if they asked for more. Ridiculous.

When I was kid I really sad that Jason left the team. He was my favorite ranger. And I’m sure that he is the best team leader ever(much more best than Tommy)

Haim Saban’s work with Ocean Group is also why we had gotten stuck with the same 40ish episodes of Dragonball Z for nearly 5 years.

I have to add also, that I recognized the differences in the voices of Zack, Jason, and Trini during a few episodes of the second season of mighty Morphin Power Rangers and I must say, that was just horrible! Those voice doubles can imitate the original red, black, and yellow ranger, but they can never ever duplicate them! Especially when they did the fight scenes with the putties and when they were battling the monsters as the Rangers.

i feel like rocky had the toughest role when he came in... i mean considering who he replaced, probably one of the most popular and coolest ranger at the time. Jason was my favourite ranger as a kid. i mean he was a true leader, has the most demanding voice... but after he left, Billy became my favourite. he was the coolest nerd ever. plus his physic rivaled austin st john, and jason david frank at the time. the thing i was annoyed with the most is the original 3 that left the show never really did any complex episodes like rangers back in time or turning into children... i imagine every day what those episodes will be like with them in it.

My third favorite season in Zordon Era

Looking at the time frame. JDF was a married teen father and David's sexuality was questioned by the crew. So if they all started off on the same page other factors contributed to half of them staying.

I will always support the actors from the show. They were done so dirty. And it was definitely the season I grew up with. My favorite was always Billy the blue ranger. David Yost was actually one of my first crushes.

I'm starting to see why they started completely changing the cast every season. It isn't just avoiding having to come up with reasons for them to swap out their powers but the cast is overworked and underpaid, causing them to walk out.

My honorable mentions for my favorite Ranger is both male and female are Billy, Kimberly, Tanya, Dylan from RPM, Noah from megaforce/super megaforce, Nick from mystic force, Z from SPD, Bridge from SPD, and that’s about it.

Update 4 months later. JDF & Amy Jo Johnson consistently said that they were never onboard. Brent Pham talked with David Yost who said that he only be on board if all of them were. Austin St John & Walter Emanuel Jones contradicted themselves. In the intro they said that it was all 6 of them. However, when ASJ was doing a Tribute on Thuy Trang(RIP) they said that it was them 3. Walter Emanuel Jones also said that it was all 3 when being interviewed for a podcast. Keep in mind that ASJ admitted to being homeless for 6 months & crawled back to Saban when becoming the Gold Ranger on Zeo. He then was also in Turbo. Walter Emanuel Jones said that Saban made him a new offer, but he said that it was a joke. However, he didn't say how much it was. Saban wasn't going to give them Union because if he had, he would've still had to pay him even if they didn't work for the show. JDF(RIP) was only supposed to be on the show for 10 EP, but came back because a lot of kids were crying that he was gone. When stuff like this comes out, you should hear both sides before making a judgement. None of them were established actors & didn't have the leverage. As we all know Walter Emanuel Jones went to act in Space Cases, but didn't do anything significant after that. He only did a couple of small gigs, but that's it. I already explained ASJ after leaving in the 3rd paragraph. Now onto Thuy Trang. After she left, she starred in The Crow 2 & then did a small gig where she played the Manicurist. She then became a waitress for JDF who was embarrassed & then left the moment he saw her. None of the Power Rangers cast past or present have had any real success from the franchise had any. JDF could've had a bigger success, but he decided not to because he said that Hollywood is full of fake people, which they've had an act of manner to this day. Christina Masterson has done some scary movies(not my thing despite having a crush on her) & did the Final Rose, which got 4.7/10 according to IMDb. It was 273 times.

I love MMPR. It always has & it always will be my favorite Power Rangers Incarnations. I also love 1995 MMPR movie (Although I think it would've been better if all original six was in it). My top favorite MMPR would always be 1. Zack 2. Tommy 3. Jason 4. Trini 5. Aisha I hate how Saban did the OG Rangers dirty. All six of them deserve. And as much as I love Rocky, Adam, & Aisha season 2 was really ruined with Zack, Trini & Jason leaving. Alot of people were invested in these characters not just Tommy. I think would've been cool if the OG stayed all the way up until the movie/Season 3 or Zeo & Rocky, Adam, Aisha & Kat picked up in Zeo.

A lot of the original filming was from the Japanese power rangers, the original. So it’s reused footage anyways which eliminated a lot of production cost but more profits

Han Saban was cheap. Those 3 actors left the show because they wanted more pay. Since their is no union, Saban was able to get away with cheap pay

Favourite Power Ranger? - let me think. Tommy's character has imo the best written role in the plot (starting evil, turning good, becoming a leader after some suspense, strongest of all etc.); I remember being so anxious about him and wanting him to return to the show so badly, lol ;D I love Tommy the most, but can't decide which one of the five original characters grabs the second place, the're all great. Trini maybe, she was so beautiful (more beautiful than Kim) and imo a bit underrated. The new cast in MMPR 2 were only replacements for me, and before Zeo I slowly lost my interest in the show at all - especially when they forced Kat/Tommy relationship, it was so poorly written.

Walter Emanuel Jones was in Space Cases for 2 seasons, but never did anything significant after that. Thuy Trang was in The Crow 2 & had a small gig in Spy Hard. After that, she was a waitress for JDF who was embarrassed & ran out the moment that he saw her. Going back to Walter Emanuel Jones, he admitted that he regretted not doing the movie & going back to JDF, he was only supposed to be there for 10 EPs. He was supposed to be on VR Troopers afterwards, but kids started crying afterwards.

If I was Saban, I would have given the og 6 their equal pay raise, keep them until the end of MMPR S3 and the movie, the new cast and story should started with Zeo instead of Lost Galaxy with Rocky, Adam, Aisha and Kat (I would have still chosen Steve Cardenas, Johnny Yong Bosch, Karan Ashley and Catherine Sutherland) along a character whom could have been played by Brad Hawkins after he finished VR Troopers be the Zeo Rangers.
