The number of private companies who deliberately dress themselves like Frontline serving police officers is astonishing. I currently work at a university where the on-site security staff dress exactly the same. Anybody who believes this is not deliberate is fooling themselves

Exactly. Police activate bodycams under the same public photography laws as they approach photographers asking how they dare take videos in public, and for what reason.

@@EmperorMingg indeed I can't tell you the level of entitlement people seem to have these days and with that a complete disregard for your own rights. They will tell you that you're not allowed to do something they have no idea about and then go and do the same thing. For example you go to a place and fly a drone legally all above board. A Karen or ken comes along tells you that they don't want you taking photos of them or flying over but then get they're phone out and film you for their safety of course! They then call the police who are filming you at the start but by law they must inform you that they are recording and a device because of GDPR they must.. But don't..

The high viz webbing and clothing is clearly intended to portray an image, otherwise it could have SECURITY in Hi viz pink to differentiate, obviously they've chosen to dress their staff this way, why ???

Security can technically carry a baton IF they are alone on site with no other workers present and if it's not accessible to the public. It was mentioned in Hansard when they were discussing the offensive weapons and the night watchman carrying a life preserver - which was a wooden stick (not the type of night watchman which existed a hundred years ago and carried swords) However, those circumstances are very very limited in this day and age as people are often on site. In the first place, let me point out to my noble friend that the provisions of this Bill apply only to weapons carried in a "public place," which term is clearly defined in the Bill. Therefore, so long as my noble friend remains on his own property, he may with impunity go around positively festooned with weapons. Clearly, of course, if he has firearms he will need the appropriate certificate. Apart from this his house may be a veritable arsenal, and he will still be committing no offence under this Bill. This fact is valuable from another point of view. It covers such people as night watchmen, who may possibly carry a life-preserver, or some other such weapon-and do so quite properly-in order to carry out their duties on their employers' property.

security carry a product called stopper red, it is basically a foaming paint, makes a real mess if you get sprayed with it. It also has a UV dye so can be spotted by a police helicopter

I think one of the possible difficulties in training security guards on top of just plain ignorance by the trainers, is the language barrier. There seems to be a lot of people in the industry from non-English speaking backgrounds.

@@lanamortenson8694 Hard left activists detected. Has it occured to you that prices have increased whilst wages have stagnated? Ever wondered what ONE of the reasons for that might be? Since I got out of HGV driving (about 15 years ago), wages for that job were chump change. Companies are now offering £40K+ to deliver nappies to Tesco. The army of slave labour from eastern Europe were a good contributor to allowing employers to keep wages low. Since leaving the EU, it has become slightly more difficult for people to come here, and as a result, employers have been FORCED to offer fair compensation for a fair days work. I would have thought that a purple haired communist like yourself would have liked the idea of private corporations being made to squirm? Then again, I have always thought that inside every hammer and sickle tattooed socialist, there is a profit chasing hard-right capitalist screaming to get out.

The gas could be deterrent spray for the dog handler to deal with hers or other dogs that potentially could come onto a site from say travellers or other members of the public with their dogs and if their dogs try to attack her. 🤷🏻♂️

Nah some forces are alright. The police force I don't like is west yorkshire. They have had some pedophile cops. There is a video on yt of a west yorkshire police cop saying "Stop resisiting or I'll choke you out" That was in halifax The only best police I can think of is Greater Manchester and North Yorkshire police. Even tho I don't think they should of arrested me 3 years ago 👍
