In this championship run Dirk beat the blazers and a young Roy, swept the former back-to-back champion Lakers with Kobe, Dominated the thunders in the WCF with a young trio of Russ Harden and KD And completed this all time great run with beating the super team from Miami💪🏿 On his way he to the championship he defeated at least 8 future Hall of Famer👀 #GermanJesus🇩🇪

He's got a great team. They compliment each other. As the other former stars are about to fall, they managed to get a ring before retiring. Stojakovic, Terry, Kidd, Chandler, Marion. You're not an NBA fan of 2000's if you didn't know them. Solid contribution from them. Their team defense held just enough for Dirk to nail dagger after dagger. Dirk was so highlighted in this playoff run because of his unimaginable offensive performance. But overall every Mavs contributed to this improbable run.

Hector Ritualo sure everyone contributed, but by 2011 most of the players you mention were ageing and close to retirement. They were “2000’s” players, not 2010’s players. Nowitzki carried the scoring massively these playoffs. He was at least 60% of the reason they won that year

the amount of jumpers scored by dirk these playoffs, beautiful to watch. Amazing shooting display by the veteran core of dirk terry, marion, peja, stevenson, barea and even brian cardinal while chandler and haywood on rebounding and defensive duty. the team was one of a kind filled with matured, skilled, experienced, high IQ players. desperate and destined to win while realizing this was their last chance at a title shot at that point of their careers. so they pushed, put the foot down and it worked magically in their favour/favor. the assembly of each lineup was well balanced and the chemistry was through the roof. unbelievable run, unforgettable also. i consider 2011 champion mavs the most legit, hard earned title winners of the last decade at the least along with the 2014 sa spurs. if i was mark cuban, id go over the cap and resigned every team free agent for 2012 season. but im really glad that this squad of legends got a ring, well deserved!

Jason Kidd running the offense, controlling the pace, dictating spacing, making sure Dirk got the ball in the spots he wants, all while maintaining patience was masterful to watch. There were virtually no mental errors and they always played to their strengths on high IQ plays even in crunch time. He deserves more credit.

Not just his technique but personality as well. I grew up close to where his home in germany is. One day I just randomly met him on a court. We chatted a little. Played a quick game of 21 (he annihalted me) and then he just proceded with some casual throwing. Just an amazing guy

Very well done Coach Nick. Thanks for showcasing these brilliant memories. Every man on this squad, from Dirk and Jet and Kidd and Tyson, JJ, #00 Marion, Deshawn, Peja, and the rest, to the Custodian, Brian Cardinal, was needed to make this happen. But Dirk was otherworldly.

Easily the best title run I've ever watched (disregarding my bias for last year as a Raps fan). I remember during the run I counted over 100 seasons of NBA basketball played across their roster, with no title. So many players getting their just due, not only Dirk. Terry, Peja, Kidd, Marion & Barea were all incredible and earned those rings.

Dirk's movement is so stiff and awkward, but so effective and he's got a fabulous soft touch. there is a book about this high arc shot and the math involved. he practiced this until he dropped. this shows how great technique comes from repetitions. training, training, training.
@tjfrye11
@tjfrye11 4 жыл бұрын
i wouldn't say it's stiff, but it definitely looks unassuming, like he's trying to trick the d into thinking he's not a threat.
@dexarceo821

Yup, he's 33 around this time so it's obvious some of his moves look stiff. But 2000 - 2007 Dirk was on a different level. He was KD before KD came along.
